General Mach Discussion / Re: What motor size and driver should I use
« on: December 07, 2009, 06:07:24 PM »
I can sacrifice some performance on that machine, because that is better to a useless machine. Also the specs. from new of that machine are not so great regarding speed, It is a 1980 Brown & Sharpe 1500VC, and here in the manual say it is a 400in/min. rapid positioning speed ( I belived It was half of that ). I also send the information to cncdrive.com  and will reply here the answer.  Thanks,

General Mach Discussion / Re: Pulse Coder- Way too many wires!

Hi David,

Can you tell me the status of your work, any good news? I want to do also a retrofit to my Mazak HMC, with fanuc 6BM control. It is exactly what you are doing, also with F/V converter. Can you give me pointers on what to buy and how to wire them?
I am following your treads with enthusiasm.

Thank You

George

Darek,
Do you think that this Glentek CEMF to Velocity Feedback Conversion Card will work as a  F/V converter?

8
Darek,

What would you do in my situation??

Thanks,

George

Hello Darek,

Do you think that is better a Rutex or original amps. with bigger servo motors? I have fanucs 20M and I am thinking of rutex R2020, but my servos are 213V , 18 A continuos, 40 A peak. Do you think rutex can handle it. Or can I use pixies with etach2 conected directly to the servo amp.

George.
