General Mach Discussion / I beleive this is a PC Hardware Conflict
« on: June 23, 2008, 01:41:23 AM »
I have been using Mach for 3 years now on many machines I have built three Hotwire, 3 Router tables and 1 and a half water jet, the half is the one that's eating me starting at my brain.

Here's the problem I have a industrial PC (from China) It's got a built in Keyboard and flat screen LCD PC has On board Video and the parallel port is out putting 3.3v but I have a C10 breakout board. All of the inputs and relay outputs are working fine. I have the A is slaved to the Y axis with matching gear rack, motors, gears, drives (Y and A have separate drives) I'm using G340s (Step multiplier x 5) with 500 Cnt Encoders. on 50:1 Planetary gear boxes so I need 5000 steps per rev. and 150 Vel, and accel 30 Motors were tunned with a Oscilloscope with a pulse generator at 40 msec pulse rate

Checked, double checked, Constupid checked the Configuration I had the kernel set at 25k and increased it to 45k in which improved when it was set to 25k if I hit the arrow key for x axis jog the A axis jogged roughly and error-ed out the G340s after 1/4 th of an inch of travel, Y axis jogging moved the X and Y and error-ed out the Geckos after and 1/8 th of an inch and racked the gantry. I had a G100 on this but had too many conflicts with the Chinese computer.

But now I'm at wits end. I have the following in the XML file:
Axis   Port    Step Pin     Dir Pin
 X          1          2           3
 Y          1          4           5
 A          1          6           7

As I said I get complete limit, E-Stop, and Input#1 checking good.

I have a PCI 32 bit multi I/O parallel port card coming from http://rogersmachine.net/PCIport.html but what else could cause such a problem, Oh I forgot to mention that I was jogging on 5% of 150 inches per minute when it was wigging out any higher and it errors instantly.

I'm posting the xml file.

General Mach Discussion / Stop Button and feed Rate problems
« on: June 10, 2008, 02:19:56 AM »
I have been running Mach3 for several years now And I have never run into this problem before:
1. After Cycle start is pressed or before Cycle start is pressed the Feed Rate override slide bar is increased has no affect on the actual feed rate it still runs at the same speed as when the first setting is set.

2. The stop button won't do anything but shut down the spindle.

I tried to fix these problems by going into General settings and for the Feed rate problem I thought at first it was the No FRO on queue was checked but it was not. So I reinstalled the software but did not replace the XML or the set file Anyone know how to fix this problem?

I have a problem the Code path and the actual cutting path are off by 12 or more inches this is for a water jet and always uses relative coordinates.

General Mach Discussion / G100 Velocity
« on: December 03, 2007, 09:58:05 PM »
Under the "Current Axis Setup" is the  "External Increment" and the "MaxVel in ISteps/ms" have anything to do with the motor tinning? or this only the incoming Encoder as referred to the bitmap below?

Also after I upgraded to 2.6 My arrow keys will only jog when I push the Shift key along with the Arrow key. What is up with that and when I set the hot keys I never pushed the shift key along with the arrow key so why did this change?

General Mach Discussion / Arts G100 latest setup PDF
« on: December 01, 2007, 05:54:00 PM »
I followed Arts G100 latest setup where it says "6.1.6 Spindle Setup
To set up your spindle to be controlled by an analog output you should only have to do 2
things. Go to Config, Ports and Pins, Spindle Setup and enable ModBus Spindle"

I'm using the PMDX-106 AND I have already tested it and works fine with the Spindle. I have no trouble turning on the spindle on with the Mach3 but I can't control the speed and with the settings exactly as spec out with Mach3. The ground is connected to the ground on the PMDX-106 and the Analog is connected to the Analog in on the PMDX-106. When I increase the spindle speed in mach3 the voltage only increases to +1.8 v at max speed on Analog 4 on the G100 and also the In Mach3 is set to Analog 1 hence the offset in the software. Also the Step light comes on at Axis C Step pin.

Please help!!!!!!!!

General Mach Discussion / Jogging two axis with one button
« on: November 15, 2007, 12:29:52 AM »
Does anyone know of an easy way to set a keyboard button to jog in two axis at the same time? If there is a way to do it with Brains that would be fine, but I could find and key codes in the brains software.

I have been using the G100 for a couple of months and and have had no trouble so far.

Thanks, Wayne
