Thank You Both,

I was switching between screens sets from customs to stock. I’m inclined to think I may have turned jog off as suggested. Due to it not working on any screen set. More trouble shooting after work.

Much Appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / keyboard loss functionality
« on: January 28, 2014, 11:19:41 PM »
Hello,

I have lost the functionality of page up/down left right up & down arrow they as relate to X Y and Z. This occurred after i was trying different screen sets  looking for a one with an inner diameter zeroing function. The on screen MPG works with axis movement. As a test i installed mach 3 again in another folder. All axis worked fine with the keyboard commands in the newly installed version. Program relaunched and system rebooted. No change. My thought is a file may have been corrupted. I rather fix the problem to avoid running through the set up process.

Would using one of the XML back up files resolve the issue, other suggestions?

Thanks.
Craig

General Mach Discussion / Z Axis issue with RUN FROM HERE
« on: December 24, 2013, 03:57:08 PM »
Hello,

I have noticed a problem after I use run from here. I was making an Acrylic tooling plate. The program was stopped to clear the tap drill from melted chips. Then when I went to use Run From Here I received the message stating preparing to move (normal). The Z then starts to raise. I assume this is to clear my .4" clearance or got to the 1" tool start height set by the CAM. The Z will raise to the point of the running out of travel.

I'm using a drill chuck and standard length drill bit which makes the head stock much higher then with other tools. I don't have this problem with shorter tools. I would guess that there is an option or value on how far to Z up.

Any thoughts?

XML attached.

Thank you and Merry Christmas.

Did you by chance load it into mach 3 and get the varing circle sizes in the tool path wondow? Im not sure why it didnt cut all the way through.

The end product should look like thie. Mach 3 shows a number of circles in varing sizes.

When I get back home ill upload it. Thanks for looking at it.

I have made the code in solid cam. It is a pattern of circles tobe cut first then cut out the main shape from the material. Any thoughts?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3, Probe, and Digitize Wizard Issue

I recently got my tool setter to work and had similar issues. I needed to use a 10k pull up resistor and add +5v from a USB wire that was sacrificed for the cause. The setter ground was attached to USB ground. See attached thread for diagrams ect. http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,18390.0.html.

Hope this helps.

It's not horribly difficult to use. I have successfully generated code on simple parts in 5-10 mins. As for pricing im not sure. Much like SW as you use it it becomes easier. I found a copy at a yard sale form a guy who didn't know what he had. I havn't tries going from photo tom g-code as of yet.
