X4 is A  PWM to 0 -10V converter ? But trouble is not here its in the gecko, Can't get 0-10v out at any speed through mach.

Have not had any success with figuring this out. Been racking my brain for days and still no voltage. Pin 14 on the db25 connector on the g540 correlates to the vfd pwm output
terminal  8 .   Spindle enabled in motor outputs  step pin 14,  dir  pin 1,  step and dir 1 and 1. both step and dir active low not checked tried it both ways. What am I doing wrong.??

I also tried motor tuning under spindle several times trying different configurations and I still get no output. On the gecko I am using both output 1 & 2 for mist and coolant is it possible this could be interfering. I also ticked and unticked the relay spindle in config and no change. Greatly appreciate some pointers or suggestions.

General Mach Discussion / Troubles with PWM output Voltage

I'm having some trouble trying to get an PWM  output voltage through A gecko g540. Ive checked pinouts, pulleys, tried different htz settings in mach and Smooth stepper config. I'm just testing the output first to verify I can get 0-10v first before I go any further. I have SX3 converted machine and have installed the x4 spindle board which is setup for pwm and is optoisolated an would like to know if theres any suggestions out there on what I may be doing wrong. I did get 9.5 volts through the geckos vfd output with a 9 volt supply and believe its not the gecko. So I have to think its something in mach that I'm missing.

General Mach Discussion / Problems with probing with 4th axis NEED HELP
« on: November 18, 2012, 10:11:37 PM »
Just recently got my 4th axis (A) working and seems to be working good. It is setup to angular and every thing works. When I probed to the top of the part I got an error message saying " probe ignored activated at call for probe" in the the fault line and probe sat on part and did not retract like it normally does. Usually Z comes down on the part touches off and moves in the positive (up) direction hitting the limit switch and says z is now zeroed in english units. None of this happens but error shows up. Any help would be great. I dont believe i doubled up any of the pins. What can cause this. Worked fine up until the 4th axis setup.

Thanks Hood, You're always very helpful . Greatly appreciated
I just recently was looking for the Turn addons wizard and found it on here I believe you sent me something on that info as well thanks for that btw.  Did the download and it worked. I think I read somewhere that the mill addons license will also work. I dumped the mill wizard addon wizlic. into the c:/ mach 3 folder and still seem to not get a licensed version appear. The turn addon looks good just would very much like to try it keeps says unlicensed version cannot run program . Maybe my license is to old or can I renew it somehow.

General Mach Discussion / Mach turn issues, please help
« on: October 20, 2012, 12:59:31 PM »
Been using mach mill for years and was a bridgeport user for years, Finally got around to converting a lathe but never had a lot of experience with lathes.
Very confused on the setup within mach. Where is 0,0 dumb question I know.. Rapids are extremely fast which are nice but not necessary. Cant figure out why they wont change with ipm .  Another issue is tool post position . Id like the code from the wizards to set tool post position in front, closest to operator. I do not intend on using rear post any time soon. X start and x end seem to be very different from one wizard to another this is where i get very confused. Does this have anything to do with dia. mode. I am in diameter mode which i am also unsure of. I normally dont write my own codes but rely on cad/cam software, wizards and nfs in mill and would very much like the same aspects with turning. If I posted my xml file will this be helpful. Any help would be great.
