General Mach Discussion / Home switches giving Estop
« on: September 05, 2011, 03:06:20 PM »
I have finally got round to putting home switches on my machine, but have a problem with the X and Y axes activating the Estop rather than homing. The Z axis seems fine and both the X and Y axes light up the led's on the diagnostics page. The actual Estop also works fine. Any body got a clue whats happening? ???

General Mach Discussion / Noisy Steppers when stationary
« on: August 15, 2011, 04:36:30 AM »
Just got my little router put together and it works really well, but the steppers are very noisy when stationary :-\. There are no issues with torque, accuracy, speed, or temperature, they really work well, but if there is a way to quiet them down I would be even happier ;D.
Can any one help?

I have a schematic for a driver which I got out of a CNC Robotics book, but I am not convinced it is the best one for running a CNC.
Does anyone have a good design that they wouldnt mind sharing. I would like ideally to micro step. I am really new at this electronic stuff, but am learning fast!

Hi there,
Can anyone tell me the difference between the L 293 chip and the PBL 3717 chip? And are they interchangable?
Thanks
Tony
