General Mach Discussion / Re: Help on setting up ToolOffsets
« on: February 28, 2008, 05:21:04 PM »
Thanks for your help.  I think the G43 thing was getting me.  I have added it to my init string.   This should help.

Are all tool offsets incremental from T1?  So, even if you are not using T1, you need to use T1 to set the base offset for all the tools?

Thanks,
Joel

General Mach Discussion / Help on setting up ToolOffsets
« on: February 28, 2008, 10:46:11 AM »
I just got a quick change tool system so I should not have to set Z of each tool each time now.

Can someone explain the basic steps for setting up and using toolOffsets?  I have plunged through a couple of parts now, so I must be doing something wrong, but sometimes it works too.

Do you set up each tool before you start on a part?  Can you set the tools up as you go?  Can you set up all the tools you plan to use and only reset Tool Number 1 on each part ?

The 'Use Tool Offsets' buttom/LED turns off sometimes too.

If someone uses toolOffsets, can you please explain your wokflow step by step?  I'll buy you a beer!!

Many thanks,
Joel

I been working on ATC and have added some buttons to the screens.  Some of the VB Button Code has functions that are the same and are lengthly, I would like to store these sub rountines in file that I can edit without having to add the code back into each button each time I make a change.

Is there a way to have the buttom VB Code call subroutines in other files?

Thanks,
Joel

There is no reason why you could not use Sub programs,  all your subs would be the programs you use now.  You would have a new main program that calls the subs in the right sequence.

Main (bridge type 1)

M98 P0002 (CALL SUB PROGRAM NUMBER 2)
M98 P0004
M98 P0019
M98 P0005
Etc.
M30

Graham.

Is there a way you can call/load GCODE Files from different input files instead of subroutines?  I understand the subroutine idea, but it would be great if you didn't have to have one big file with subroutines, that way when you made changes to one of the sub-programs you would not have to cut and paste it into the big master file each time you made a change.

Could this be done with a macro somehow?   Then when you made a tweak to a program file, all you would have to do is repost and run the macro file ( no cut and paste on a 10,000 line file )

Thanks,
Joel

General Mach Discussion / MACH3 ROCKS !!!
« on: December 03, 2007, 06:46:47 PM »
I been working with MACH3 for a couple of weeks now while getting my new(Used) BridgePort up and running.   MACH 3 Rocks, we were able to get things set up and running with the free version.  And for only $160 bucks, its a deal for the full version.

Thanks to all who helped make Mach 3 posisble !!!

Nice Job!

Sounds like Mach3 can automate just about anything! This is something that I could use.

Thank cutmore and pappabear

General Mach Discussion / Anilam Series 1100 (Step/Dir Help)
« on: October 31, 2007, 10:52:30 AM »
I have Bridgeport Series II Special with an Anilam Series 1100. Can I interface step/dir control logic to this controller or will I need Pixie Boards to convert step/dir to analog? If I need the Pixies Boards, has anyone interfaced them to these amplifiers/drivers before?

The current Anilam 1100 works now, but I want to add some additional features using the macro pump on Mach3, MPG, JoyStick, ect

Does anyone have a block diagram or wire diagram for this ?

Many thanks,
Joel
