General Mach Discussion / Squares not square.
« on: June 19, 2013, 09:45:31 PM »
So I have a nice home built 3 axis cnc router. I draw up in turbocad to lazycam then to Mach 3.
Every now and then when I want to cut a bunch of squares it starts to cut the squares then when it gets to the corner
the y axis is still cutting while the x axis starts cutting before the y is done, leaving a rounded corner on one end and the corner I wanted on the other.
Also sometimes when cutting into wood when the z axis goes down, before it gets a chance to go all the way down to where I programed it the x and y starts cutting leaving unfinished cut wood.
Any help would be great, thanks.

General Mach Discussion / Mach speeds up on blue lines
« on: December 30, 2010, 09:57:16 PM »
Hello everyone, I just now got the machine to cut what I want it to cut, I'm now having trouble with blue lines and green lines.
When I upload a dxf in Lazy cam It shows blue and green lines.
When I upload the g code in Mach still shows blue and green lines, The blue lines cut almost 3 times as fast as the green, but its all on one chain.
So the only way to run it is slow everything down for the blue lines, But then when it hits the green lines Its super slow almost not even moving.
 ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Hey thanks its the auto cad inventor part, it does not make good dxf files. I wish they could list these things.
Just started using the trial version of Turbo cad for the 2d drawings and uploaded a bunch in Lazy Cam it works great every time.
Now I just need to come up with 500 bucks at the end of the trial LOL.
I think with auto cad if I remember right, you can save it as a dxf right after you draw it, with auto cad inventor the only way to get a dxf is to put it in paper space then you have to delete all the wording and check boxes so the background wont print, thats what I think was the problem.
Thanks again Im happy

I dont know what Im doing anymore got all these free trial download for software to try different ones.
Anyways I did the simplest drawings which was a bunch of different size circles about 2 to 3 inches with one big circle around them. still the same thing.
Im going to do a video to show everyone and post it on youtube  or kill myself soon lol

Whatever I draw and save to a dxf always stops at 250 lines only showing part of the things I want it to.
Complex drawings like arcs and splines screw everything up, but if I just draw a bunch of circles it just works but stops at 250???
Im going to try a different drawing package, because every thing I have to put in paper space to get it to save as a dxf, and I think its trying to read the paper to I dont know.
I guess I would like to know is the other 2 pieces of software that people are using, Im using autocad inventor...... lazycam...........Mach3

I just ran a part through free mill and it ran through the whole part, was something like 700 lines, so mach 3 is fine, Its something with the dxf files im making in autocad inventor I think.
I can use free mill to cut them out, but the way it cuts would take forever. I need some type of cut that follows the line
Thanks

That sounds like that might be whats wrong, I will try a different program, Do you know of any inexpensive code makers?
I'm just making very simple single line cuts with 14 circles in the center.
Thanks

Hello everyone, happy new year!!!!  I just bought mach 3 because I needed more than 250 line of g code.
It says it is licenced now but when I do a test run it always stops at 250 lines of code sill.
when I load the g code in mach 3 it shows everything that will be cut up to 250 lines which is still only 1/3 of the project.
Im using the free lazycam g code maker, everything looks good when I save it.
Im guessing I didnt load the licence right, but it says its licenced.  :P :P :P
Any help would be great
Thanks
