General Mach Discussion / Problems with Arcs in the X/Z Plane
« on: November 11, 2006, 05:23:28 PM »
Whenever I have posted a toolpath recently which has arcs in the X/Z plane I run into problems with the MACH3 and how it interperates the toolpath. I am sure it is some simple setting in eithet MASTERCAM or MACH3 but could someone out there pass along a little knowledge in this area? I am machining a 3d relief generated by MasterCam ART and it has some arcs in the x/z plane. I have MASTERCAM set to break arcs at quadrants but what Mach3 seems to do is interperets the original move plus a 360 degree circle which if its a gentle curve ens up with a big arc...some of these try and send the tool through the table and others in a loop the loop. Im Not a G code expert so Im not sure how to "fix" this.
Thanks in advance

Brian I have tried everything I can think off and I cant seem to find what is causing it to feed so slowly at the beginning of the program.. It allways uses a feedrate of 8 and no watter what I do I cant seem to change it. It is doing it on all of the files now, and I know it wasn't before.....Obviously I have changed some setting.....but I cant find it...and it's weird, It rapids to Safe Z Above the start and then uses this glacial pace to drop down to the First Start point at which time everything picks up and runs normal.... I have a 12" Z so it's getting kinda annoying.. any suggestion on where this feedrate might be set?

Any other suggestions?

Brian, I Have my Settings at debounce interval 2500 and index dbounce of 1....and I still get the limit error.... I think It may be a bad switch....is there anyway of having the limit switch triggered show up in the History log?

Ok That Meant.... not sure... WHat should the Debounce interval be set to? (2000?) and what should the Index Debounce be set to?

Brian, Tried a G00 on that Line.. No help there....

I Will try that...
Can You Explain the Debounce Interval and Debounce Index...  Is the Index the Number of Times and the interval the duration between the times it checks? What is a good interval setting?
