Mach3 and G-Rex / Re: G100 crashing?
« on: August 09, 2007, 02:05:43 PM »
I Just heard back from Gecko, the G100 had a weak oscillator (Probably a bad crystal) which would cause it to not start up reliably, It may be possibel that this could be related to the Init - run - Init - Run Loop we seem to have all experienced. If so perhaps it was a bad batch or something. I realize that not all similar problems have the same solution but there you have it.
Cheers and good luck!

Hi guys, I had a similar problem, my Grex was working fine for a while and then this reboot thing started happening to me as well. If I shutdown and restarted it would clearup most of the time. I struggled with it untill the direction output went on the A Axis and then I sent it back to Gecko. The spare we installed in the system has worked flawlessly, never had any issues or problems with it. I remember when I first got the first GREX i struggled with getting the firmware loaded getting connected etc. Of course the second time around I was more informed but to me it seemed like the newer unit had fewer "issues". Perhaps some of the earlier versions had some networking issues which have since been resolved. My G-100 is currently at Gecko being "examined" if I learn anything more I will post it here.
Cheers

Finished Screens / Re: Strange Things with Mach

Scott,
Great advice, I too am dealing with a client who had NO idea what to ask for and I have the feeling that getting paid and not holding thier hands for the next ten years is going to be a challenge. I too have a situation where I am maxing out the I/O and its is looking like I will need to implement a Mod Bus Solution as well, would it be allright to contact you regarding the MODBUS?

Thanks

Mike

General Mach Discussion / Re: Macropump problem?
« on: August 06, 2007, 06:39:16 PM »
Brian, This is the XML I am Using. The machine I am currently running MACH on is just a test platfrom to prove out the interface. so Its configuration is not necessarily setup completely or correctly. The FInal System is running with a GREX which I dont have connected to this one... and may possibly have a MOD-IO board as well... so If the Macropump issue might be caused by something to do with the configuration my apologies in advance.

Thanks

Brian,
I did open the macropump cpde, I single stepped through it and it all seems to work. It is stored in the Macros directroy in the proper profile subdir.  I Placed a Message command which should execute every 4 times the code runs..... I get nothing. The macropump is monitoring all of the inputs on the system. I have the inputs emulated by hotkeys for testing, so if I press the right hotkey the macropump should light the appropriate led... Right?

I think I must be missing something silly (As usual) but for the life of me cant find it..

I have had a similar issue in the past and found it to be caused by selecting the right tool but the wrong offset... Not that it could not be anything else but look for an H in your gcode and make sure the number after the H matches the Tool you are using....

Hello all, I think I am having a problem with my macropump..... When I first Start my MACH3 i get a popup window that is empty but has the title RunLoop Macro thread dummy. Has anyone seen this before? My Macropump is also not doing what it is supposed to.. at least as far as I can see.....

Any Clues? Anyone?

Mach3 under Vista / Re: Your opinion of Vista ?
« on: July 28, 2007, 12:44:41 PM »
Hbaba, Yes, like most things in windows there is usually a quick and simple way to turn it off, that is for the psuedo technically savvy. And coogrr you are absolutely right, Everybody bashes the new OS when it comes out, and to be truthful every time a new OS comes out it allways has some issues. My big beef is specifically with the marketing people and the strategies they use to drive the consumer product machine, and in this I think microsoft is as guilty as all the rest, if not more so. (My pet Peeve is that the best printer I have ever owned has limited function under Vista and X64 and HP doesnt plan on updating the drivers, I think because it was too good for the money! And they dont seem to offer a comparable product anymore.)
And while I also agree that software SHOULD be purchased, the price on this new wondrous O/S is pretty steep, makes it very difficult for the small independant builder to compete when you pay as much for your O/S as you do for your hardware. The line between O/S core functionallity and unecessary junk has become very blurry. My extra 3 cents worth...

Hey Guys, I just downloade ver 2.02 and I get an Error when I try and run it. "Fatal Error B104 couldnt execute" Blah Blah Blah "Error Code 1450" is it something I am running perhaps?
