Screen designer tips and tutorials / Re: OEM Code Function
« on: May 19, 2012, 06:05:02 PM »
I'm using Screen4, accessing the button and setting it's function code is straight forward, I can do that.  The problem is that the OEM function code 115 takes me to a redirect, rather than directly to Notepad to edit the file.  How do I edit the function called by this code so I can take the redirection part out of it?
Thanks so much for your help.

Screen designer tips and tutorials / OEM Code Function
« on: May 19, 2012, 01:13:26 PM »
Hello World,
I have recently changed over to a standard 1024.set from the OEM's original screen set.  The Edit G-code button is wired to OEM Code Function 115 in the standard 1024.set but still brings up the previous version's function, which redirects to an option box with several choices.  I want to go directly to edit the file in Notepad.  Where do these functions reside, so that I can edit out the redirection?
Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Re: Output Pins

Thanks guys,
I started out with Click PLC's to get the job done, but in the long run, many modules, and NOT near as easy to program, and much less functionality than an Arduino provides for a tenth of the money!
I'll check out Pokeys.
Thanks for the response, John

General Mach Discussion / Output Pins
« on: February 11, 2012, 12:58:15 PM »
Hello World,
Simple question, I'm 1 Output pin short using the pins 1 - 9, 14, 16, and 17 for a project I'm creating.  What happens if you attempt to use an Input pin as an Output?  Is there another way around this, I'm already using a 2nd BOB?
Thanks, John

General Mach Discussion / Re: Axis as Spindle?

The axis as spindle as toggle will get way too messy.  Just use M3/M5 for one head and M8/M9 for the other.  Of course you'll need an interface relay tied into your controller but they are out there at a reasonable price.
Hope this helps,

Hood, After looking at everything I considered noise.  Could you expound on the 'debounce' a bit.
Thanks,

Hello All,
While this is not directly related to the above it is a similar problem I am currently having re: homing.  My machine has worked fine for some time and all of a sudden sees the switches as active when I know they are not, I've got them jumpered out.  Checking diagnostics I see that there is no active pin on port1, but pin 12 is configured for the home and limit switches strung together.
So, where to start, the control box, the parallel cable, the PC, or the software?  Or am I missing something all-together different?
Thanks,

Hey Brent,
Where are you located exactly, I'll try to drop by in the next couple of days and see what's up.

So to clarify; The SS sends out single ended signals and you had to build a board that converted them into differential, step and direction + and -, as they leave your breakout board in route to the drives.
Can you recommend a breakout board up to the task?

Very appreciated, thank you

One more question/clarification on this topic please.  So your PC's output is to the SS and the motors talk to the AB drives, what is the interface do you use between the SS and drives in this setup?
Once again, thanks for your help on this,
