VB and the development of wizards / Re: Running a system function from VB
« on: October 02, 2008, 01:40:54 PM »
Thanks !

I do not know why, but I was insisting in DoButton(xx). The system did not complain, but also did nothing. DoOEMbutton did it !

Thanks

VB and the development of wizards / Running a system function from VB
« on: October 02, 2008, 06:56:22 AM »
Hello.

There is a system function that is: Home X

I want, in a button that does several other things with VB to call that system function.
Right now, I need to press two buttons. One with the system call and the other with the rest of the VB stuff. It should be all done with one button.
How can I do that ?

Thank you

General Mach Discussion / Lathe homing with more than one tool
« on: October 02, 2008, 05:59:34 AM »
Hello. This is probably a very simple question that any lathe user can answer.
I have read and watch the tutorial but no luck.

Set up: Lathe with homing switch on the X axis. Toolholder with 8 tools.

When I press the set home, everthing works fine, it hits the homing switch and set the X=0 in the machine coords (as defined). Ok.
But I would also want that the program coordinates to change, in respect to any tool currently in use.
All tools have there on offsets defined in the tool offset window and are good in respect to the master tool.

What I am doing now, that is not good, is only to homing with tool nÂș1(master tool), then I push another button that sets an offset in the program coords. I can't do with another tool because the offsets are different.

It should be a better way.
Thank you

Feature Requests / Constant surface speed without feedback
« on: September 19, 2008, 09:23:17 AM »
It should be possible to have constant surface speed without spindle feedback (turning mode).
If I consider that the real speed is equal to the spindle speed set up by mach, CSS should work.

In fact there is an option in the ports&pins -> spindle setup -> special functions

that have: Use spindle feedback in sync modes

If it is unchecked, it should do exactly what I mean, but it does not work, still expects the feedback.
Also this should be very easy to implement.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mainboard in CNC router control box

->Is there any grounding issue?

I do not think so. You can use the same box if all metal is grounded (like a PC case).

Sorry, I meant:  "I think so"

ESC will do

I think you did it right.

I would also connect the shield of signal encoders to earth (alu plate)

Post the code, so see what is happening.

Anyone ?
