General Mach Discussion / XP Embedded, Mach syntax
« on: February 22, 2006, 08:41:49 PM »
I'm trying to fumble my way through XP Embedded.  The purpose is so that I can create a single purpose PC for Mach3,4.  Is there a sytax for starting Mach that opens a profile so that when you open Mach it is in full screen ready to play?

General Mach Discussion / Ethernet Connection Possible?

Netgear makes several models of two port printer servers.  Just curious, can these units be used with Mach?

I'm building my dream machine.  I'm fairly new, so I need some help making sure my pin configuration is correct.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Hand Pendant MPG
« on: February 06, 2006, 12:06:15 PM »
I want to build one of these!!!  Wow.  Just one question:  What do the push buttons do?

I am new, but diving in with both feet, so I have 3 cnc machines.  (little hobby ones)  I'm controlling all three with one PC.  (Even though I have three lincenses of Mach, and can only operate one at a time)  This little baby would allow me to remotely jog and ????   Love it.

General Mach Discussion / Re: DRO as encoder?
« on: February 05, 2006, 10:38:50 PM »
So, for all axis I need a total of 6 outputs?  2 for each axis, correct?

Is this type of encoder a good solution opposed to encoders on the steppers?

General Mach Discussion / DRO as encoder?
« on: February 05, 2006, 07:45:24 PM »
My shoptask is outfitted with a digital DRO that the manufacturer says:

encoder info:

pin number on encoder         wire color:

          5                                 yellow     Channel B
          4                                 green      +5 volt
          3                                 red          Channel A
          2                                 (none)
          1                                 black       ground

Channel A & B are TTL

each count is 0.0005 inch, or 2000 counts/inch

I don't know what a Mach123 is, but if it accept quadrature inputs, it may be ok.

So, does this mean I could wire these onto a few input pins as use it as an encoder?  I noticed he only has 2 channels, would I need three for all axis?

General Mach Discussion / Re: No toolpath display after 1.90 installation
« on: February 01, 2006, 12:46:23 PM »
I don't know what the problem was, but I uninstalled, deleted the Mach3 folder, deleted anything I could find in the registry, and then reinstalled.  Now, life is grand.

Now I have 1.84 with no toolpath display.  Wonder if I should employ the uninstall, clean, and reinstall option?
