General Mach Discussion / Windows CE.net Operating System
« on: November 02, 2014, 06:32:26 PM »
Hello All,

I was on the hunt for a small footprint motherboard to fit out a new CNC controller when I ran into a compete system in a box and it a fan less type setup.

Anyway I bought one with the idea of using it as it was a complete system that I could pull and arrange as I needed in my box.

The operating system is Windows CE.net.  Can I update this to XP or just reuse it or use CE as the controller software.  Anyone out there accomplished this?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Lee

Hello all,

I'm ready to setup a new computer that'll only be used with my CNC comversion of an SX3 mill.

Do I need to have the internet installed or for that matter  any other programs than Mach3?

I also want to reformat this drive and erase any all the programs on HD as well?  I've read somewhere that you can burn an image onto a CD to make it bootable and also reinstall Windows again.

Thanks for any help in optimizing this computer for just working in the shop.

Regards,

Lee

General Mach Discussion / Need a New Mother Board for my Computer
« on: August 11, 2014, 12:18:00 PM »
Hello,

Actually I want to build an all in one box for my CNC Router.  I have no idea what motherboard would be appropriate to run Mach3 other than I need a parallel port.

I'd appreciate some suggestions on purchasing mom board and at this point I want the smallest one I can find to support my Mach3 CNC Router.

Thanks,

Lee

Hello,

I have a homing switch that is depressed when mounted to the machine.  The normal position is when the switch is not depressed and I want to activate the home position when the switch is no longer depressed.

I can't seem to find a way to make Mach3 think that the depressed switch is the normal when not homed?  Is anyone familiar with my dilemma?

Thanks,

Lee

I would like to purchase Mill Wizards program but have a question.  I like to use my laptop to work out what I'n going to do in the shop and save to a thumb drive, then out to the shop.  With the Mill Wizard will I be able to do this or is it neccessary to install it on the shop computer.  My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 64 bit version running Windows 7 Home Premium.

Thanks,

Lee
