General Mach Discussion / Re: Homing 2 slave axis with different offsets
« on: September 29, 2008, 01:38:10 PM »
I understand what are u talking about, but unfortunately that's not the problem in my case. Imagin 4 independent axis. 2 are moving wire in X plane, and the other 2 in the Y plane. The home switches are used to home each axis so the wire is set parallel to the X and Y plane (the front edge of the table) But the home switches of the each axis are not quite at proper position, and after homing the wire is a little out of the parallel position to the edge of the table. I was thinking to measure these offsets and enter the values in the home off boxes, so when I hit GO TO Z after homing, wire takes desired position. But there's the problem. I set offsets for example -2, 1, 1 and 3 mm to the X, Y, A & B, and after homing and GO TO Z, X and A move 2mm each and Y and B move -1 mm, but A and B should move 1 and -3 mm. So after this routine, wire moves by X and Y plane but again doesn't take the parallel position...

Dejan

General Mach Discussion / Homing 2 slave axis with different offsets
« on: September 29, 2008, 12:35:14 PM »
Hello,
I have read all similar posts, but couldn't find anything useful, so i had to make a new topic for my question.
I have made a foam cutter with 2 X-Y modules. We don't need the tapered cuts, so we slaved A to X and B to Y. I use refcomb. to slave horizontal axes first (X & A), than the vertical two (Y & B). All of that work's fine, first X and A find there home each, than Y and B do the same. But the problem is with home switch offsets. When I enter different offsets to each of 4 switches, it ignores A & B offsets, but sets X & Y offsets to them, so I can not set wire in the proper position. So I would like someone to answer me is it a bug or a feature, and is there any way to solve this problem.

Regards,
Dejan

VB and the development of wizards / Re: Switching T1 & T2 via button
« on: June 25, 2008, 03:27:01 AM »
Hello Scott,
Thanks a lot. I have implemented 2nd code, it works. The only one thing missing is to prevent tool change while in reset and while the program is running. also I would like to change tool number displayed at existing the Current Tool Number DRO. And to release the tools when hit reset... Sorry for bothering, but this time I really need help :-)

Cheers,
Dejan

VB and the development of wizards / Switching T1 & T2 via button

Hello,
I was asking if it's possible to put a button into the main screen which switches between 2 tools instead of typing M6T1 & M6T2 into the MDI command line?

General Mach Discussion / Re: LPT2 input pin problem
« on: May 07, 2008, 01:30:14 PM »
Thanks for the reply.
I have PCI2LPT card and all other pins are working properly. I was looking at the diagnostic page and trying to switch input pins to the gnd directly (18-25). I could clearly see the changes for all other pins, expect for #4,5 and 10. I am little confused, as I can measure the change at the pin (0 or 5V), but Mach doesn't see it.

General Mach Discussion / LPT2 input pin problem

Hello,
I am trying to play a little with pendant, but have noticed a problem with second port. I set up pins #2-9 as inputs, but pins #4,5 and 10 doesn't change state (Mach doesn't see the change). Has anyone experienced similar problem?

Cheers

Hello,
Take look at the Ports & Pins setup after malfunction appears and see if pin numbers are still correct for X axis.

Brains Development / Re: Brain not affected by oem led???

Still nothing... I am trying to activate dwell but don't know how. When using feed, program doesn't stop immediately. When using Cycle Stop, then G81 isn't working after resume.  :o :-\ :'(

Brains Development / Re: Safe Z Jog Buttons

Try to explain a little bit better. As I understood, you need to lift up Z before other axis do any move? Can it be done by Mach, or you need to do it by pressing a button?
Cheers

I couldn't manage to get input2 active/inactive, so I used OEMLED822 (input2 led), then compare it with itself by AND lobe, and, as I told before, it is working now. Here is the brain attached. This brain has to serve zfeed, z down, current tool, and input2 (inductive sensor which tels that tool has reached proper position). This brain has to pause program somehow until toll gets its position, and then continue. this brain is not finished yet, I have problem, because when T>0 and Z<0 and Zfeed=0, if input2=0, then program feeds and wait for input2. It works, but before it stops and wait, z axis lifts up for about 1mm, but sometimes not. Thats the problem, and now i am trying to use dwell instead of feedhold....
Cheers
