General Mach Discussion / Kernel speed error on startup
« on: March 11, 2014, 02:30:34 PM »
I was setting my steps per inch and inadvertently missed a decimal when I saved.   I finally figured out how to get it back to functional but now I get an error on startup "one of the motors is too fast for 2500 kernel speed".  It works fine and motor is noticeably quieter.   Any ideas where to look for this setting or why the motor is so smooth now?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mdi question

Thanks.  I bet that is it because I swear it worked for me in the past.   Is there a proper entry method to be sure it always works?  If both are modal, do I just toggle it each time?

General Mach Discussion / Mdi question

Hi all,   quick question.   When I input say,  X2 F10 I was expecting to move 2 in X at a feed of 10.  I get the email expected 2 in X but feed rate does not change.   What am I doing wrong?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 with a DeskCNC controller?
« on: September 19, 2010, 08:04:29 PM »
Thanks for the reply.  Do you know of a site where I can get info on converting?  It seems to me that I should be able to use the servo drivers and power supply I have and just get a new controller board?  Even through this works fine, I cant sell it with good conscience so would like to use as much as possible.

I did pay, I consider it part of my learning curve.   :P

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 with a DeskCNC controller?
« on: September 19, 2010, 07:40:05 PM »
Sounds like a few years back using Mach3 with DeskCNC controller was being worked on.  I have DeskCNC and it works ok but if I get suck, that's it, no help......anywhere, especially IMService.  I am considering just building a new controller but thought I would check one last time.  I saw a co. that sells a USB to LPT converter, will that work?
