Hi James welcome aboard It can be quite an experience teaching oneself, and trying to decide what programmes to buy,without throwing your Quids away,they are too hard to come by.
Any questions that you may have should be addressed to the General Forum, which can be accessed from this page,
there is a vast amount of knowledge accumulated there and I'm sure that they will put you on the right track.

Hi Adam welcome aboard thank you for dropping by an introducing your self,being a guinea pig is not a good  thing i usually takes up a lot of time and energy for very little if any reward
I always name my equipment some with very perverse names which I feel that they have earn't  but I like the  analogy of the Llama

unfortunately this is purely a introduction site.
All questions that you may have should be addressed to the General Forum, you can access that site from this page, you will notice on this page there is a area " General Mach Discussion" if you brows the the various threads and select one that seems to be the closest to your inquiries and post your questions there, I'm sure that you will get the answers

Gary I do not know of any mach3 for dummies book but if you post any questions to the general forum they will help
Dave your on the right track with the general forum
Rudy I'm sure with your background you will have a ball building your machine the general forum is where you will be able to get help with any problems that may arise

Welcome aboard Claus I'm glad that you have such a good friend,you will be in there is a lot of members in the forums that do take an interest in making guitars any questions that you may have should be addressed to the general forum where there is a lot of knowledge on the subject of guitar building.

Hi Doug welcome aboard, happy that you dropped in and introduced yourself,sad that you are not happy where you are working now,one thing that I have learnt, you must be happy at work or you ain't happy anywhere, money cannot compensate,  when it's a chore to go to the job, man  you find it hard to do the job well
 As you have stated when you need help with your project the general forum is where you should address your queries,
 there is a lot of knowledgeable people there that can help.
