I sold my CNC router but kept my laptop with Mach 4. New owner is using his own laptop and purchasing his own Mach4 license.
How do I send him the settings currently on my computer?
This was easy with Mach3, but I have searched for hours trying to do this with Mach 4 with no luck.
Thanks for any help.

Mach4 General Discussion / How to get image back on main screen?
« on: January 21, 2021, 09:51:12 AM »
Good morning;

I’m just starting to use Mach4, and in the middle of a program I started clicking on the “tool path ops” buttons and I lost the image on the large blue screen.
I was unable to get it back and had to just let the program finish.
Is there a way to get the image back while in the middle of running a program?
Thanks.

Mach4 General Discussion / Can I used Mach4 on multiple computers?
« on: November 19, 2020, 08:58:57 AM »
I’m confused ! I currently have a lathe and mill both running Mach3 on the same license here at home. I am planning on building a router table and want to use mach4 on it. I also want to upgrade the computers on my lathe and mill and want to run mach4 on them also. This means I will have 3 separate computers all running Mach4. Do I need to buy 3 licenses?

General Mach Discussion / OverRide limits flashing and can’t shut off
« on: September 17, 2020, 08:12:18 PM »
I’m at wits end !!!!
I tried to modify my Mach3 turn screen so that I could over ride the feed rates, and I’ve messed everything up. I can’t even get the lathe running again.
I tried to reload Mach, but that didn’t help.

The over ride limits LED is flashing, and I have no idea how to fix this because the machine is no where near the limits. There’s nothing in the manual and I can’t find help online. I’m totally lost.

General Mach Discussion / How to change feedrate on Mach turn
« on: September 17, 2020, 12:25:25 PM »
Currently my setup wants to use inches/minute for the feed rate, but I want to use actual chip load ( inches/rev)
I tried looking online but have not found anything.
Also, is there a good tutorial video on how to learn the basics of Mach turn?

I have only used a mach3 based mill, and have no clue when it comes to the lathe.
I need to learn the absolute easy stuff that may seem simple for novice users.
Thanks.

General Mach Discussion / how to connect/wire a rotary encoder?
« on: September 09, 2020, 08:37:29 PM »
Let me first say that I am totally green when it comes to building CNC machines, but I picked up an older CNC lathe that I want to run with Mach 3.
I have all the stepper motor connections figured out, but I am stumped as to how I'm going to connect an encoder to my breakout board.

The encoder I'm using is this -->  https://panasonicsensors.com/index.php?route=extension/module/product_downloads/get&did=259

This encoder came originally on the lathe,

The breakout board I'm using is this one --->  https://www.pmdx.com/PMDX-122

My end goal is to be able to cut threads on this lathe, but I'm not sure if this even possible with Mach3.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've been using Mach3 for over 10 years on a plasma table and have had absolutely no issues. I'm using XP on an old Dell Dimension 8300, but am concerned that it will fail. I want to get a backup computer, but the older ones with a Parallel and serial port are getting difficult to find without mechanical problems like leaking capacitors. I'm confused as to what to look for ! I read that Win7 has issues with Mach3, and WinXP is not compatible with new computers. What is the newest computer I should be looking for and which operating system? Linux? Also, how well do the parallel/serial adapter cards work on newer systems? Thanks for any help

General Mach Discussion / What would cause my limit switches to trip?
« on: November 17, 2012, 03:18:19 PM »
A bit about my machine;
It's a converted Hurco KMB1 that I did a few years ago but rarely use it, so I'm still finding the odd bug.
My limit switches are 24v proximity switches, so there are no moving parts. Since I built this machine, everytime I would TIG weld near it, the machine would shut down and display a "limit switch trigger" fault. So I don't TIG wels anymore when the machine is running. The machine used to trip also when relays would activate, but I fixed that problem by putting capacitors across the pull down coils.
In the past couple of days, the "limit switch trigger" fault shut my machine down 3 or 4 times right in the middle of a program for no absolute reason !! I had a 1/16 cutter carving wood, so there was no load on the machine. I tried to watch the Diagnostics screen to see if I could see a light flicker if it happened again, but of course it ran great afterwards.
Any ideas? Has anyone experience similar problems?
Thank-you, Dan

General Mach Discussion / I'm unable to edit my G-codes from Mach3
« on: November 16, 2012, 10:36:21 AM »
While running my program, I dicvered an error in my G-code (M04 instead of an M03) I clicked on the "edit g-code" icon, and my g-code opened up in MS word (I think) After changing the bad command, I clicked on "save", but an error window pooped up disallowing me. In the past I've been able to do edits, but for some reason I can't anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you, Dan

If I try to cut thin material on my plasma table, any inside sharp 90 degree corners end up getting a large radius ( around 3/8 radius), except where the cut starts and stops.
If I cut any ouside 90 degree corners, the corner comes out perfect.
Any ideas?
I've increased my acceleration rate to 40, but the problem persists.
