Will something like this work?
https://www.alliedelec.com/Images/Products/Datasheets/BM/OMRON_ELECTRONICS_INC/834-0205.PDF
If so, I will go ahead and purchase it. Thank you.

Yes, this will work fine. I've had one on my Taig mill for about 10 years now. Works up to 6000rpm without issue

Cheers,

Peter

Yes, when it comes to the development of Mach John Prentice is a legend, up there with Art.

Hi,

Have a look at the drives from cncdrive http://www.cncdrive.com/

They have had good reports.

Modbus / Re: MP-03 Pendant Setup Question
« on: January 25, 2010, 04:46:03 PM »
Hi,

Scott, thanks for helping out.

Mike, can you test that the output for the LED is working? You can do this by observing the corresponding SMT LED on the ModIO board. Does it illuminate?

If not, then you need to go to the Mach3 Modbus Test page and turn the Led on through there to test if it works.

As to the plugin, the latest one I have from Scott is Ver: 2-4

Send me your email and I'll send it to you.

Cheers,

Peter.

Neat products guys.
Peter, can't find yours on your site.
Did you get them done ?

......and I really like this part,

"I'm hoping it will help those who have trouble working out which is the hot end of a soldering iron".
 ;D

Nope, there not on the site. I'm not sure that there is a lot of interest in them. I guess I could get some done.

Cheers,

Peter.

 Hi,

I've done Revision 8 of the schematic. It shows a bit more information  on
connecting the G540 to a VFD.

The schematic can be found at the bottom of the CNC Controller Kit page.

General Mach Discussion / Re: estop chargepump

Just remember Nuri that an output from the PC does not make an EStop. Generally speaking an EStop switch should remove power from things that move (by removing mains power from your motors power supply.) As Peter mentioned an enable signal from Mach is a good way to let your controller know that Mach is in an operation state; but you should not depend on that for an EStop.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the correction. I read it that Nuri was talking about pressing the Mach3 Reset button, rather than an external EStop button.

Cheers,

Peter.

Hi Nuri,

Yes it is. Use one of the enable outputs, say Eanable1.

Peter.

Hi,

Yes, I know what you mean. It wouldn't be too hard to do a Modbus to the Chinese VFD converter. Just not enough time to do everything.

Cheers,

Peter.
