PoKeys / Pokeys57cnc Scaling moves
« on: June 10, 2022, 11:28:37 AM »
I have built a cnc from an old D&M trainer. I am using a pokeys57cnc board with Mach3. I have created a manual control panel and an automatic tool changer and everything works as it should. This has been a long process. I can jog in all directions and in different increments. I can move all axis in MDI and they move to position accurately to the commanded location.
However here is the problem I am experiencing: When I design something in Rhino and output it with Rhinocam the G code looks good. I load it in mach and it runs through the program with no errors but in changes my DRO's and screws up my G54 zeroed position? Then when you try to run the program it moves to what appears to be 10 times the programmed distance. If you set your jog increment to .01 it moves .1 but the DRO says it moved .01?
I then tried using the mach wizard and programmed a simple rectangular pocket and it did the same thing. I then manually programmed a simple square .1 deep and again did the same thing.
I have an old light machines (AKA Sherline) that I retrofitted years ago with just a cheap breakout board and everything else is the same. It works fine and I tried one of the programs that run on it and got the same result. I then took one of the programs that were made for the new machine and did a dry run on the Sherline and it worked fine. This leads me to believe there is something going on with the interface between Mach and Pokeys.

I am stumped and do not know where to go from here. You can see from the photo a lot has gone into this project and I am very close so I am hoping someone here can help me figure out what setting I am missing or where I went wrong????

I was wondering if someone could tell me if a modal command within a macro is persistent after the macro is executed and then returns back to the program? If you execute G code within the macro such as a G53 or incremental, will it return to absolute G54 after the macro has run.

PoKeys / Re: Pokeys57cnc lost motion
« on: March 29, 2017, 03:23:52 PM »
I noticed that the status light for the pokeys board blinks as it should when you start the Pokeys software outside of Mach? When you open Mach there is no status light.

I tried replacing the XML with one from a few days ago that was working and that did not work. I then went to function config tab and hit reset device selection. I closed out of Mach and restarted it and it asked if I wanted to use Pokeys external engine I said yes and still no status light ???

Please help I am out of ideas,

PoKeys / Pokeys57cnc lost motion
« on: March 29, 2017, 02:58:14 PM »
I was set up using Pokeys with Mach3 and all was working ok except I have been dealing with problems with the index pulse. That aside I closed out of mach at the end of the day and powered down the mill and Pokeys. When I came in in the morning I started the computer then powered the mill and started Mach3 and I had no plugin? I had to go to the configuration tab and re check pokeys plugin, close out and restart But still no plugin. I am hooked up via Ethernet and went to the control panel and checked the properties tab for the Ethernet connection and found the IP address I had assigned was gone and it was set to auto. I changed it back to the assigned address and then rebooted the computer. After reboot I now have pokeys showing up in Mach but I have lost all motion. I hit the home switches while in the diagnosics tab and they light up but I can not jog or move in MDI. The DRO's respond but I have no movement.

Can someone help me out here? It seems every time I try to solve one problem a new one starts before I can correct the one I am working on. This is my first buid with Pokeys and it is not going well!

Thanks for any input,

I did use the new topic button. Every time i went to post. If you use the same subject it tells you that you already posted even though I had gotten the error message. Or if you use the same attachment it says you already downloaded it and you need to rename it. I tried 9 times. This morning I tried to look at this post and it said the site was down?

I will make another attempt.

Why can't I post in the pokeys forum? I have tried several times over the last few days and get the same message each time. Mach support is not working and unable to fill your request HTTP error 500.

Please advise as to how I can post,

Machscreen Screen Designer / Screen 4 freezing
« on: March 22, 2017, 03:39:42 PM »

I am attempting to map a few hot keys in Mach3 to some screen buttons in screen 4. Every time I open screen 4 and click on file to load the 1024 set the program locks up and stops responding? Has anyone had this problem and do you know how to fix it? Actually if you click on anything in the top tool bar the program locks up? If i double click on the screen set I can open it in screen 4 and edit it but if I hit file to save it locks up?

Any help here would be really appreciated,

Jeff K.
