Any radius on an inside corner must be at least the tool diameter or larger. The tool can't follow the path if the radius is smaller than the tool You can turn off advanced comp, but you'll get gouging in the corners then.

That's generally how it's done. Gradually increase it until it misses steps, than back off 15-20% for a safety margin.

He mentioned steppers, then said servos. Which is it? Servos shouldn't miss steps, the drives should fault and stop.

Try lowering your acceleration by 1/2 and se if that helps. Also, what drives are you using, what motors, what size power supply, what leadscrews... will all help. What size machine, too.

Circles drawn in a CAD program don't usually have a direction, unless they are made up of line segments. If your drawing actual circles, and they are cutting the wrong way, you're probably out of luck. One way around it would be to convert the circle to a polyline arc, if your CAD program supports them. This should give it a direction.

When coverting .dxf's, the direction the line is drawn usually determiines direction of cut (unless the converter is joining lines, then all bets are off). try to make sure all your lines are drawn in the correct direction. Redraw if necessary.

I've had the same problem, Mike. seems like every other message is unavailable. I hit the back button, then next again, and it usually loads, but really slow. To make it go by faster, I play Texas Hold em while I wait for the pages to load.

Hmmm. I basically have the same setup, 1.1G Dell with 256K Ram and Window 2000 Professional NT and I can't get anywhere. All I'm trying to do right now is run the motors to check out the system and I'm having no luck at all. The diagnostics screen says I'm getting better than 25000 pulses. The nerve wracking part is that it runs on my 2.2G Dell. But that's my main computer.

What exactly is happening? Have you run the driver test?
