I use pneumatic tool oil with my dumpster nuts. It's very thin, and doesn't build up at all.

If all your files are set to read only, then that's the problem. Did you copy them from a CD? That'll do that. You need to right click on the files, choose properties, and remove the read only attribute.

There is no plan, ans probably won't be one in the foreseeable future. It took several years to develop the 32bit driver, and the person who wrote it (Art) is retired. There's no one else that has the expertise to do it. A recent thread on the Yahoo group about the history of Mach3 points out that virtually all Windows "experts" will tell you it's impossible for Mach3 to do what it does.

Yes, as Ray said, 12V is too low. Speed is proportional to voltage, so a 36V power supply would give you 3 times more speed.

You don't need 3 amps for the motors and drives. Just 3 per set.The drives don't draw any current, they just pass it to the motors.
 A 15 amp supply is probably plenty.

Home can be anywhere you like but machine coords zero is your tool positioned at lower left corner of your work area.

Umm, Can't machine coordinate 0,0 be anywhere you want?? Might not be standard procedure, but it is possible.

Yes, be careful with having the toolchange macro start the spindle.

I was doing that with my auto zero macro (as part of M6) UNTIL the spindle started unexpectedly.

At that point, I decided to let the g-code start the spindle.

Mach3 uses a right hand coordinate system. What you're asking for would be a left hand coordinate system.

How are you creating your g-code? G-code for a RH system will give opposite results in a LH system.

You might be able to set the Y axis scale to -1, but the toolpath display won't show it correctly.

My thought was to make it a matching wizard, called from a toolbar button, so it would appear integrated into the screen.

But I have to do a lot of research, as I don't really know much about all the different probing operations.
