I've seen someone else use a macro pump to check the current tool, and use G52 to set the appropriate offset for that tool.

Yes, but make sure they are not set to Port 0. They should be set to Port 1.

Put a home switch on each side, and when you home the machine, each side will home to their own switch. Adjust the position of one switch until it homes square.
Note that the switches need to each use a separate input pin.

What I used to do before I had home switches, was drive the machine into hard stops to square it up. Just adjust the stops so it's square.

In ports and pins, for your motors, are the pins set to port 1?

Jog back and forth, and measure the voltage on the direction pin. It should change from 0V (one direction) to 5V (other direction).
If it's working, then you may have a problem with your drives.

I'm thinking home all would move all axes at the same time. You'd probably be best to hand code moving Z first

By Default, Ref All does one axis at a time. You can modify the script to home all axis at once using the RefCombination function.

I thought the 'home all'  was just a vb script, so you should be able to just edit that button script and reverse the order it homes.  Correct?

Correct, but the original post was actually talking about GoTo Zero, not homing.

Also, the macro still does not work.

You need to tell me exactly what happens, and what if any messages you get. Just saying it doesn't work gives us nothing to go on.

Fix the cap, as tweakie suggested, and make sure you can get the digitize LED to work when touching the plate, first.

It's not an easy thing to do, and won't happen. If it was easy, you'd already have it.
