If you post your .set file I can do it for you.

Plate thickness is taken from a User defined DRO on the screen. If your plate is .375, you can code it without using the DRO like this:

PlateThickness =0.375

? Is this my machine zero, can I jog close to plate ?

No, it zero's the Z axis in the current coordinate system.

? what distance does .75 represent  ?

The maximum travel of the Z axis during probing. If you want to start the macro at a location higher than 0.75, you'll want to increase this number. Note that it's negative,  -0.75.

? should I enter plate thickness here or does it know from line 1 ?

It's assigned in Line one. "PlateThickness" is a variable, and you're assigning it the value of 0.375

? is this set for 1" now?

Yes, it's set to retract 1"

I seriously recommend using a more robust macro for your auto zero. The minimal one you're showing here is open to a lot of possible errors, which can cause broken tols or even machine damage.

You might want to look here for a much more refined version.

I think you only get 25 lines of code from LazyCAM unless you have a Mach3 license.

Download the free Draftsight CAD program.

And where can we buy it from?

Also, the .zip file on the plugins page is not complete.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Curve smoothing, CV, and processing.

1) Afaik, you're totally off track. Mach3 attempts to follow the actual path. In order to try to maintain constant velocity, it "blends" corners by starting the direction change a little earlier. The amount of blend is mostly determined by the current feedrate and the machines acceleration.
The majority of CV options provide different methods to reduce the blending.

Contrary to your belief, mach3 is actually blending at the points, rather than in between them.

2) Acceleration is the main factor.

3) You might want to look into formulas, but the fact that they don't work while jogging can lead to some problems.

General Mach Discussion / Re: SIGNALS REALLY MIXED UP??? Please help

My guess is a weak parallel port. What you're describing is reported frequently by G540 users, as it tends to require a bit more current to function than other drives.

One thing that may help is to increase the pulse width in motor tuning to around 15 or so.

See if this works. If it does, change the IJ mode in general config.

Yes the check boxes and radio buttons are "LEDs" with a transparent button over the text next to them. I was having issues with the LEDs showing the change if the transparent button was over small LEDs. I even tried a separate transparent button just for the LED and one for the text but it still screwed up half the time.  Maybe you have some insite on that?

I use a single transparent button over the checkbox and text. That way it mimics the way Windows actually works, as you can click the text next to a checkbox and it will change the box value in any windows app.

I use Screen4, and don't recall seeing any issues specific to small buttons. But I can tell you that the placement order is critical, and once placed, I don't touch them again. If I need to move something later, I'll actually make a copy of the original transparent button, then delete the original and use the new copy, to make sure it goes on top of the LED. I've seen instances where moving the LED and button seems to change their display order.

Yes...  tremendous amount of work don't even cover it. I even amaze myself how much time I have into this.

Setting up all those "tabs" must be fun.  >:D
