There is no value stored in DRO 1200 unless you put the value there. It's a User DRO, not a standard Mach3 DRO.

Rather than using DRO 24, try using the System Function for Current Tool Number. Or. use OEM Code 824

Also, I created another DRO and I'm trying display the value in the OEM DRO1200 but It always shows Zero as well.
I used the following:  OEM Code 12000

1200, or 12000? Is 12000 a typo?

DRO1200 would be a user DRO, and you'd need to send data to it. What are you trying to do with it?

If you run drivertest.exe after it disappears, it should kill the task and allow you to restart. You might want to try the development version to see if it works better. Sounds like Mach3 doesn't like  your PC.

I have the auto zero incorporated in my M6 macro, so that when I change tools the new tool get's zeroed automatically. But I use a fixed probing plate for the toolchanges, like the Big Tex version above.

G4 P1 is the same as Sleep(1000)

and I believe GetVar(2002) will only work if you use G31.

From the manual in the G31 section:

After successful probing, parameters 2000 to 2005 will be set to the coordinates of the
location of the controlled point at the time the probe tripped

What I have got is a pulsed output on the step pin, however the direction pin merely changes from a high to a low state and vice versa on changing the direction of jogging.

Yes, that is correct.

The direction pin is not keeping your motors from spinning. Even if it wasn't working, the motor should still turn, but in only one direction.
The fact that you're seeing the direction pin means that Mach3 is working correctly, and the problem is probably with your wiring.

What drives are you using? Some drives are enabled by default, some are not. It all depends on the drive, and how it's wired.
