On the first line of this page, where it says "Click Here", you'll find a bunch of older versions in the Mach folder when the FTP site opens.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Questions 1st Aluminum Cut Sample

No, not lead in. You ramp down to the depth, rather than plunge. Start at the surface and gradually move down while following the toolpath. Say your cutting your square shape. Start at the corner, at the surface. While moving along the first side, ramp down to the final depth, then go all the way around and go over the ramped portion to bring it to the full depth.

Don't plunge, ramp into the cut.

General Mach Discussion / Re: M6 Macro Simple?
« on: November 11, 2012, 04:24:29 PM »
The M6Start.m1s and M6End .m1s are the ones you want, in the macros\yourprofile\ folder. You can open them with Notepad or Wordpad, just right click on them and choose Open With...

Leave the M6End alone, and just change M6Start to this.

tool = GetSelectedTool()
SetCurrentTool( tool )
Code "G53 G0 X-4 Y-4"
While IsMoving
Wend

In General Config, set M6 to "Stop Spindle, Wait for Cycle Start"

Note that you should make sure your g-code has lifted the tool high enough to clear everything prior to the M6, or you may crash into something.

Mach3 under Vista / Re: Mach3 support for windows 7?
« on: November 11, 2012, 03:02:12 PM »
I don't put a lot of stock in what the Drivertest says. All you can do is try it.

For the settings that give you a choice between auto and manual, choose manual. Then try to set everything to NOT do any type of overclocking, if you can figure out what you need to do. A lot of these newer motherboards are doing all kinds of things to enhance performance and power saving, all of which mess with Mach3's timing. You'd be better off with a basic motherboard that didn't have any overclocking settings.

Sorry, but I don't even own a copy of Windows 7. But I've seen numerous posts from people that do use it.

Looking at the manual for your motherboard, In the Bios, I'd disable a ton of stuff.
In the Ai Tweaker section, disable EVERYTHING.

In the Advanced CPU section, I'd disable:
C6 mode
CPB mode
AMD PowerNow
SVM
C-State Pmin

Also, I'd disable everything you're not using. serial ports, usb, sata, sound. Everything.

Also, try using the Vista instructions in the post in this forum.

If you have a multi core processor, go into the bios and disable C1E or EIST.

VB and the development of wizards / Re: Persistent Parameters

You really should be using a UserDRO, I think the range is 1200-2000. There's no guarantees that any OEMDRO's will allow you to store your own values.
I wasn't aware of an alternate .xml. I just checked. I have about 25 profiles on this PC, as I do a lot of testing for other peoples problems. The only one that an an .xml in the macro folder is my main profile. But, the date on it is 2 years old, and I run Mach3 with that profile several times per week.

As I said, try using a User DRO above 1200, and the value should be saved in the regular .xml

Are you using an old version of Mach3?

Yes, but you need to select them all, and check the box that says "Output all visible toolpaths to one file"
