I believe that the toolpath display will only work correctly with a rotary A axis.
I don't think it can do anything with your B and C axis.

You may have a wiring issue, as the ESS should be putting out 5V signals.

Do you have the enable pins configured in Ports and Pins, Output Pins?

Most people don't even use the enable signals, as the drives should be enabled by default with no enable wires.


The diagnostic Port 1 Pins don't display properly with a parallel port, and may not work at all with the ESS. Disregard them.

Run Drivertest.exe in the Mach3 folder, and see what the results are.

If you get a flat line, and steady pulse rate of close to 25,000, then  it should be working.

Then jog one axis back and forth, and measure the voltage on the direction pin at the drive. It should be 0V in one direction, and 5V in the other. If it doesn't change at all, then Mach3 is seeing the port, usually because the address is wrong.

If you have custom Macros, Brains, Plugins, and Screens, then you need to copy those as well, plus the images for the screen in the BMP folder.

But all of your settings are in the .xml file.

You can copy the entire Mach3 folder, then, on a new PC, run the installer, and when it's finished, copy your old folder right over it.

Line 4(G28 G91 Z0.) is where the z starts misbehaving and goes into the negative values.

It does that for a lot of people.
Either get rid of that line, or home your Z axis first.

Z is usually in negative values, unless you set Z zero to the bottom of your part.

I'm confused about the type of machine, and why you have it set up the way you do?

Normally, in Aspire, the X or Y would move in and out from the headstock, and the other (Y or X) would be perpendicular to that axis. The Z axis would be a milling spindle moving up and down.
Basically a mill with a rotary axis.

It sounds like you are doing something very different? But I don't know if that's the problem or not.
