About 5-7 years ago, someone made a board to do what you want. It worked by doing everything in hardware, and sending a single signal to Mach3, so that Mach3 thought it was homing to a single switch.

As Jeff says, what you're trying to do won't work.
Some motion controllers, like the CS Labs controllers, can do what you want.

On the Spindle Tab, "Use Spindle Motor Output" under Motor Control should not be checked, according to page 43 of the manual.

A while back I think I requested the ability to use transparent buttons like you can do in Mach3. Hopefully they'll be able to implement them.

I also ran into some issues with layering buttons over bitmaps, or maybe it was bitmap buttons.

A limited version of LazyCAM comes with Mach3.
The pay version of LazyCAM has more features.
I'd recommend spending a bit more on something like Cut2D, rather than the pay version of LazyCAM.

Actually, you might be better off using the analog 0-10V rather than the PWM signal, but you'll need some resistors to convert the 0-10V to the 0-5V that the Super PID requires.

If you're using a Super PID, then you need to use two pins to control it.

You can use Output 4 to turn the spindle on and off, but you also need to use another output pin for the PWM signal which tells the SuperPID the rpm. This second output pin is what you need to enter for the spindle step pin.

On the Spindle tab, you also should be using PWM, and NOT step/dir

Did you try selecting OEM Function Code and typing in the number you want?

That's how you create User LED's and DRO's so I'm guessing it would work for buttons as well?

Greg, I haven't  tried to run a machine with Mach4, but from what I've seen on my old desktop, it would appear that Mach4 needs about 4x the PC power that mach3 needed.
Check your CPU usage with Mach4 running.

No, 0,0 is always  bottom left in Mach3.
