Show"N"Tell ( What you have made with your CNC machine.) / First Part
« on: August 23, 2009, 02:07:27 PM »
Just got my router running after 6 years of on and off work ???. Anyway, it seems to suffer from resonance, so the first thing I need is a stepper damper.

Did a dry run before cutting, since I've never cut anything before, then cut one out of scrap ply, then the finished part from Baltic Birch. Came out perfect, and I didn't even do any test cutting or measuring or anything.

Finished Screens / Mach3 Aqua
« on: April 05, 2009, 04:22:48 PM »
I wanted to add some more to this, but do to limited time, this is as far as it'll get.

There are 2 brains required. One for the spindle override, so it matches the FRO, and one for the Offset buttons. Make sure both are loaded and enabled. If you're code doesn't contain a spindle speed (like S5000), the LED may  not work correctly. One workaround is to put an S********* in your initialization string.

place all the .png's in Mach3\bitmaps\Aqua\

and Aqua.set in Mach3\

brains in Mach3\brains\

This version is the same as the last I posted, with the addition of the offset buttons changing color to match the current offset.

Enjoy. :)

VB and the development of wizards / Wizard questions?
« on: January 02, 2009, 11:16:28 AM »
Two quick questions about. The docs say you can save all your wizard DRO's with SaveWizard(). I want to build wizards right into my screen set, so how can I save the DRO's if the wizard is not a standalone wizard?  Building the wizards into the screenset would eliminate waiting for the wizards to load.

If I can't save the built in wizards, how can I call a specific wizard from a button?

With some Photoshop help from Graver, I'm going to redo my screen I made a few months ago. Here's the start.

Works in progress / New Router Screen
« on: July 12, 2008, 09:14:19 AM »
Here's a modified version of my other screen set for a single Z axis router.

I haven't really tested it, but I think everything is working.

There is no toolpath on the Run screen. The reason for this is that CPU usage is about 75% lower without the toolpath on the screen, and when your cutting, you're usually looking at the machine, not the screen. This should make this screen run better on slower PC's than the standard screens.

Unzip all the .png files to Mach3\Bitmaps\Router\ and put the Router.set file in the mach3 folder. It's setup for spindle to use Output 1 and Coolant Output 2.

Let me know if there are any issues and I'll fix em up.

Also, here's the Real Draw Pro files if anyone wants to modify the Screens (you'll need RealDraw Pro).

Works in progress / Throwing together a simple Router Screen
« on: June 24, 2008, 09:04:49 AM »
Working on a simple router screen set for a dual Z axis router I'm designing. This is pretty close to what I want. Just need to wait for the new Flash docs to figure out how to create it in Flash. :)

Art, if you want to take a look at this, here's a comp bug someone at CNC Zone posted.
