General Mach Discussion / Re: Found my problem
« on: August 04, 2010, 01:42:45 PM »
No. It was connected to one of the power supply plugs. The cable was 18 ga shielded and about 4 ft. long. Since the PC was unaffected I am thinkng there could have been a minor voltage drop across the cable. The supply I used had a good solid 5v output and I mounted it in the control box with the breakout board.

An XP pc will power down devices to conserve power and sometimes you will need to go into the device manerger to stop it and somtimes the bios also . Win7 seems not to do it as long the power settings are set to high perfomance

glad you got it fixed this sight has helped me a lot also

Nice work

And can I ask where you got the material and what it is?

115
is that broke?, you make nice stuff ;D

I've use  stuff from tiger, see below.

they all seem to work if installed corectly with newer msi mainboards and amd/ati chipsets any way, also most computers have the ports just no connector. look in the bios too see and just buy the header cable(s), they are like 10 dollars. msi has a less common pin conecter for the parrerel but easy to find.....

one other tip is if you need to put more then one board in use differnt manufacturers to keep irq conflicks to a minimum
