General Mach Discussion / Linear Scales

I use to have a knee mill that I setup with AC servos on it and it was running under Mach 3, so I have some Mach 3 experience but no experience with linear scales and Mach 3. I am now looking at getting a knee mill with steppers and I have a question about using linear scales with Mach 3. Will linear scales allow me to turn the steppers off and use Mach 3 as a DRO under manual operation? Also can the linear scales be used for positioning when using the steppers and Mach 3 as a CNC?

How do I start the program on a certain line instead of at the beginning?  I am fully aware of offsets, tool offsets....ect so those won't be a issue.

General Mach Discussion / Cutting a arc on the Z axis

I have never cut a arc on the Z axis before, how do I accomplish this.  My start point is Z0 X2.3109, end point X2.0948 Z0.2882, Radius 0.3.  Is it as simple as G02 X2.0948 Z0.2882 R0.3?

General Mach Discussion / Homing Problem

I am finishing the setup of Mach and I am having a problem homing the machine.  When I home the axes it starts with the Z, moves the axist until it touches the limit switch then backs of a small amount, this seems just fine.  Then it moves the Y but when it touches the limit switch the machine just enters a e-stop condition, it never backs off the switch.  I set the debounce to 2000 but that didn't help.  Any ideas?
