General Mach Discussion / Re: Changes In Macro Execution?

I like the Dragons explanation better  ;D

I hear that Art is doing another motion controller  for laser/3d printing  :o  ;) ;D

Based on a pokey 57e

Interesting

if it is a quad encoder and you have 1000 counts then you use 4000 cpr. That does NOT include any gear reduction or screw tpi

CPR * reduction*screw pitch = steps per

I would try setting up the dispensor as a step direction spindle running the stepper to drive the pump.

The S word would control the volume per inch of travel

G1 x10 Y0 M3 s100
y10
x0
y0 M5

the stepper motor is very precise as to start/stop  .

You also HAVE precise process control by being able to vary both the Feedarte (FRO) and dispencing volume (SSO) on the fly.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

Hiya derek, I just did some more testing and there is a great deal of the Gocde side that does NOT work (;-)  #vars ,G41/42, G31 would not run in demo, there are many Gcode programs here that will not even LOAD but run fine in Mach3.

I agree there is a time when you have to move on or starve.

Let me know when it is a good time to drop by.  I would like to work with the UCcnc more to rattle the bones around.

I looked at the macro side and he made it MORE difficult than it really needs to be. Too much non human verbage in the script language BUT that is programmers for ya.

It is REALLY going to depend on IF Balaz is agreeable to changes for the better to make it MORE mainstream CNC compatible Gcode wise. It looks VERY EMCish in nature.

Ray just curious BUT do you have it set to ignore Mcodes on load??  IF it does not have to load the and check the macros it should load that code it the wink of an eye.

HIYA Stirling, DON"T get started , there may not be enough bandwidth.  :o

It just IS what it IS,

Ray it is all going to depend on WHAT is inside of those Mcodes (;-)  Mach3 does very well as a Gcode controller. Not so well as a macro script interputor.

IF you bog it down with a heavy script load it will choke like a donkey eating a sandspur sandwich. It was not designed for that type of operations.

I have fed it massive amounts of Gcode with subs and vars and it runs like a new clock.  Just don't do ToolComp with that (;-).

I just pulled out the notes where I tested it in the past AND it is a VERY basic controller software  no where NEAR as functional as Mach3.  IF all you cut were very basic shapes with cam generated Gcode maybe.  Programs are very slow to load what loads in M3 in 2 secs takes 30 sec in UCcnc. The toolpath panning is terrible compared to mach3 etc, etc. NOT SAYING it cold not be fixed but WILL it get fixed ??

I would not be in too big of a hurry to jump from the frying pan into the fire. There would be needed a LOT of FUNCTIONAL testing needed to confirm the UCcnc.

Maybe talk Klaus into a screen designer for UCcnc ???   C# does not look too bad to deal with ??Maybe(;-) At least the function calls for UCcnc look and feel very familar.

DEREK, I need to get up to see you. Maybe we get together and plan a UCcnc strategy to convert some Mach3 functions over to UCcnc ? I have some time available(;-).

I bet you are running in Machine coords ??? switch back to Work coords.
