Does anyone know the proper syntx for SetVN ? I have just thrown rocks at it is see if it worked like FANUC

Setvn500 [TestVar]     Defines #500 as TestVar

#500 =5                   Set the var value
or
#testvar = 5              sets the var value

Questions

Normal only the common vars 500-549 can be used ??

IS there a look up table for #VAR - VarName  relationship ?

Will the VarName be commented on the call line for example

SetVN500 [Testvar]

#testvar = 5

When I call it as

G1 X#500        (TestVar)  <<------   will it automatically assign the Comment to it

OR

G1 X#Testvar        ( 500 )    <<----- ?

Unless you verify the actuall positions from the point of origin you don't really KNOW if  any of it is going to the right spot it just appears that the 2 do not line up. The first operation COULD be wrong as well.

Did you add the needed carriage return to the end of the SUB after the M99 if NOT it will NOT see the M99 and will not run. As a point I always add a % after the M30.

I just finished testing the M98/G65/G66 calls here other than a few quirks they worked internally and externally.

OK from your picture I can see that you did not add teh CF to the end of the file. Add either a CF (blank line)  or the % after the M99.


This works: AND you can return BACK to the main at an a N word with the M99 Pxx  return call as well

In my subroutines folder I have the file named O1002 with no extension just as the manual states. The sub looks like this:

You have to know I already checked your code it was fine there is NO coded offsetting from the G code.  That really only leaves the machine as the problem.

(;-) Those are famous last words it can't be the machine (;-)..  Did you run the test? does it show ANY offsetting in the the Gcode  toolpathing ??. You could be losing steps ONLY on a rapid not on G1/2/3 move.  There are a HOST of things that can cause a machine to gain or loose steps only in certain circustances. it seems you have found one of those circumstances (;-)

Ok here is teh test. Take the first program and add teh second program to the end of it  then do the 3rd. Next take OUT the m30s Then load the total program Do you see the offsetting in the toolpath ?? NO then it your machine loosing or gaining steps.

Brains is an internal function of mach3 so is the macropump.  They are NOT plugins. Like I said you need to get to reading the manuals and docs.

I thought you were just wanting to control a VFD for a spindle. Mach3 does the control of the machine. The modbus com is controlled through Mach3 functions.  I suggest you get to reading you have a long way to go yet (;-)
