Now make SURE you understand that you will have to measure your tools as referenced to the master tool being ZERO as well.

V2580  after a random period of time the toolpath stops responding to panning. All screen views are effected.  To make it work again I have to ether reload the screenset(stock) or load another screenset and it starts workiing again. THEN it works until it stops again.

It still has NOT crashed since I loaded V2580 (;-) Even in the screen editor it has not crashed out.

Another glitch in the new function that reports the tool change status to the Mach4 status line. It is NOT reporting the status of the tools correctly ALSO the wording NEXT TOOL is wrong ,  that implies that it would be the NEXT TOOL in the Gcode file. The word that is correct would be Selected Tool.

Also the message itself should be standardized as to content   Selected Tool = 1   not == . And yes I know where that comes from.

NOW IT WOULD be nice to be able to see the next tool call in the gcode stack to be called (;-)  I can do it in Mach3.

V2508 seems to have helped the Random crashing. BUT it introduced another bug in the SetVN  . The SetVN is reporting an error in the G code using #vars  EVEN though it was never called to define any named Vars UNLESS there is one hiding somewhere ??  We will get a View table to be able to SEE all the Named Variables that are created/associated. This example would be a good reason to have one.

Thanks, (;-) TP

That code is FINE with a standard USEAGE of the tool table as it assumes that teh top of material is set with teh master tool with ZERO offseting AND the master tool is used to establish Z origin.

YOU are NOT doing it that way.  You are applying on offset to tool 99 and then using IT to set the Z origin. In reality it is still OFF by the value of the offset.   IF you are going to do it that way then your Z origin value HAS to equal the Z offset value of teh Tool 99.

For example if  the Tool 99 offset value is -2.234 ". When you set teh Z origin it must also be set to -2.234. Same as the Tool 99 offset value . That is the only way to establish what the REAL Z origin as Z0.000, top of material is.

Here is an example of a bolt circle using the G15/16. You can see it does do the proper 45 deg arry of holes. Note that the values of XY change under the g15/16 function. IF you were to build an array of bolt circle function you would use a SUB to program teh actual bolt circle code then use teh G15/16 to array it in a polar fashion. Then you would have a part that had a circular pattern of the Bolt hole function  (Say 8 sets of a bolt circle pattern arrange in a circle)

G0 X0 Y0 Z0
G91
G16
G81 X10 Y45 Z-1 R0 F100
Y45 L7
G16
G90
G80

Show me an example of what you are doing with it.  Last time I tested G15/16 it worked exactly as it should.

The G15/16 was not designed to do a wholesale conversion of your machine to polar coords you can do that with FORMULAS.  The g15/16 was designed to work with things such as a bolt circle as an easy way to program them in XY. Basically anything you can do as a polar array. Probing comes to mind as well.

Just a thought(;-) TP

Which tool are you using as the master. The master tool is the one that you use to establish the top of material as the origin. It will always be set to ZERO so that all OTHER tools are referenced to that tool.  Normally you would use the longest tool of the group. To set up the machine start with the Master tool and find the top of material and set your work Z  coords to Zero.

IF you are setting the master tool to anything but ZERO then there is no telling where the other tools may end up come run time.

Please post a segment of your code so we can check the Tool Comp call. Without that part nothing will comp.
