To verify it is set up correctly trip a switch and see IF the correct LED turns on in the diagnostic page. In your case a tripped switch should turn on teh axis LIMIT led and teh axis HOME led at teh same time.

The LPT question referrs to if you are using teh LPT port to run teh machine OR have an outside controller like a SmoothStepper.  IT can make a HUGE difference to the answer you need.

ARE yo SURE you have teh HOME function setup ?? Home and Limits are 2 different things to set up. It sounds as if you have limits setup but NOT homing.

IS this a LPT version or outside controller version ??

Are you running a DEMO version of Mach3 ? Last I checked the Tang control worked ok.

SHEETCAM has a Tang cutting plugin that does what you want.

Sometimes a bug will ONLY show up IF a certain condition is active. YOU may be the very first to have hit the magic combination to trigger the bug. The trick is being able to replicate the exact condition that causes it. Once teh problem can be identifyed then it is normally easy to fix the bug.

I do not know of ANY solutions for Mach3 other than the old  bed of nails routine and that is painfully slow to watch(;-). But does work to some point.

Normally there is an associated LED with every function. Look at the LED list if there is one just add the LED to your screenset.

Just curious but WHY would you want to turn off an axis ??

You have to be VERY carefull there as you are at the point that any problem you run into COULD be a PC GUSTO problem and not a M3 problem. It can be very hard to tell them apart sometimes.


Side note, the very best PC/M3 combo I have is an older  1.2ghz @256mb PC running W2k and an OLD version of Mach3(lpt) and it is bulletproof.  So newer bigger faster is NOT always better. (;-)

I think you are going to find that it will not work well you are WELL below the minumum threshold of 1ghz and 256mb to run Mach3 dependably.

Most wizards have an option to save settings so they are there when you return. Some do it automatically on save and return
