General Mach Discussion / Re: New PC, what to move from old one?
« on: October 01, 2015, 09:05:13 AM »
You will need to copy over teh XML file from your old PC to teh new one.

You do realize that changing PCs may NOT solve your problem. This has ALWAYS been a problem with multiplexed systems.  On the PC here it was NEVER a problem until I upgraded the DHTC. THEN the problem started.  After bypassing teh Torch signal so that it did NOT use a multilplexed signal it has been fine.  I do believe teh problem is with HIS multiplexing of the signal. THere are MORE than plenty enough LPT signals to run a plasma without multiplexing (;-).

You can draw your own conclusion from that. (;-)  I have NO idea why Tom did not step up and suggest the fix for you. It is outlined on a doc from HIS website . I will find it for you.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Run Inhibit - Based on Input

HIYA BOB I think what you are looking for is the door safety function. Where IF it is active it inhibites teh running of Gcode. I am not sure IF you can jog but I would think so. That is a normal CNC safety feature.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach4 PC/NB Min Spec

The GPU SHOULD be able to run 100% without shutting down or overheating if NOT then you have a BAD designed GPU unit with far too small of coolling area. Same with teh CPU.

Yes there ARE GPUs and CPUs out there that are badly designed for this type of load. You learn a lot IF you have ever work with high end Cad/graphic design software and videos cards.

Mach4 should NOT be a resource hog but it seems it is. Hopefully THAT will change soon.

Running code of 1-1.5 million lines is NOT normal and should NOT be used as a comparision of choosing a PC to run NORMAL code sizes.

That would be like using a Max load 0f 60,000 lbs as a base to pick out your new family car. You would end up with a semi truck to drive to church on Sunday. Can be done but  a waste of resources.

IF you need to run large file like that put your money on a good graphics processor card it will do MORE good than anything else.  The toolpathing IS the HOG. You can always just turn it off if needed on the RARE occasion of a large file.

HUM thats odd, everyone ELSE uses that address and I get stuff all the time. Apple pies, fruitcakes, bannana pudding, prime rib. I always use 5 day for steaks that helps AGE them.

General Mach Discussion / Re: help with setting up control buttons
« on: September 25, 2015, 06:45:05 PM »
Sorry but there is nothing I can tell you that will make Mach3 safe for what you want to do. There is a specific criteria you must meet in order to even USE mach3 for what you are wanting to do AND mach3 will NEVER pass that criterea. The 2 button station also HAS to meet a specific criterea to be be used for a safety solution. Things such as both buttons MUST be independant from each other yet work together. You cannot just put both buttons in series and require that you push both for it to be safe.  On each cycle of start/ stop BOTH butons must go OPEN state to prove that you did not tape one of them closed and are just using one button. Pluse there is a boat load of other things it must meet.

IF you do not have a clear understanding of the safety aspects that ARE REQUIRED by LAW then you you need to rethink the position you are putting yourself in. This is NOT a mini table top mill sitting on your Kitchen table.

Mach3 has to many quirks about it that prevent it from even being considered in this situation much less actually USED.

Do yourself and your family a HUGE favor and walk away from this while you still can.

What exxactly are you trying to do ? It sounds like a 2 button safety or deadman device.

Mach3 does not have that function.
