MACH TOOL BOX / Plasma, Consumables tracking

Enclosed is a Mach funtion to track consumables

Screen shots show the Screen mods and give the DRO#s used in the code.

Also a shot of the Hardcopy report is provided.

To work properly you must also Modify the Cam post to do the following     
Just before the M30 at file end it must enclude
#650=*********x              where *********X = total cut inches.

Les at Sheetcam has already developed this mod to the post for sheetcam users.

AH, but you left out the regen toolpath(;-) routine to make sure the extents is accurate. Mach does NOT auto correct the extents in the toolpath. Just make sure you do the SET XYAXIS ZERO and REGEN as a manual function before you run it

Dave not to wory (;-) I DO HAVE a simple hi contrast screen set. One for mill one for Turn one for router one for plasma,etc. I also have a copy look alike of MOST of teh commercial controllers as best as it can be done. (;-)

I was just tugging on SuperDaves  cape (;-)

SURE the CAM  can handle it in the post with no problem.  

SHEETCAM would work great for this as it is very capable in 2d work like punchpressing, plasma,laser,etc.

Just put drill points at the punch locations and let SC add a drill cycle at each point AND then MOD the post to output the M25 instead of the G81 drill cycle.

Les over at SC is great at supporting his users by helping with posts mods.

THEN it is very simple to convert a standard Cad drawing to a punch file(;-)

SheetCam, Never go to work without it.  (;-)

Dave if you want to take out the auto part it will run just fine.

NOW last night I worked out a different solution with Sheetcam. I redid the post to output a Dry run around the PART perimeter to verify the material. It also has the block delete charectors in that part so you can turn  the funtion on and off if needed.

AND it has nothing to do with VB(;-) Not as quick and easy BUT it does give a more detailed look at the material fit.

Gee I was just hoping for a simple Hi Contrast screen like all the new CNCzzzzzzzz I see out there.

I does looks nice if you are into Gaming (;-) But us oldies like a nice easy to read simple screen.  All that fancy stuff is confusing to an old worn out brain.

I really dont see the difference. If you want it to punch just add the Mcode to make the punch cycle where you want it. Then everything acts like a NORMAL gcode operation.  The further away from a normal Gcode process you get the harder it is to CAM

No way to catch the Gcode(;-) like you want.

This will do the same thing. AND IF you want to single step just turn on the single step.

OR for a different approach to the move/hold. This allows you to run in move/hold mode before punch OR turn on block delete and run auto mode.
