It is done all the time (;-) When drilling tube we also use another trick drill throught the top section then reset the R level just above the bottom section that way when mach drills trought the top it will rapid done to the next level and continue. Savea all that drilling air.

Just makes sure to reset the R level when you have completed the hole OR you will snap the bit whn Mach tries to move at the low Rlevel inside the tube.

To reset the G54 to zero first Refhome all axis, then zero all axis. Now go to the g54 table and zeroo the values.

NOW you have everything set to 0,0,0 BUT as soon as you move to a different position and set the point of origin (Zero xy) the G54 is going to change to refelect the offset from the Machine zero. THAT is the way it is suppose to work. The G54 is the defaultt holding offset to track the difference from Machine Coords base and Users coord base

WHAT IF you were to do a swapaxis(A,Y) then A thinks it is Y.

AND do an axis correction formula on Y based on the Radius in the Radius correction DRO to convert the Y linear Moves into an ANGULAR move.


Would this be a  4th axis  wrapper function that would be usefull ??

I think you will find that G54 IS the default Offset and THAT is what mach uses for the positional values unless you select another fixture offset.

You will not have enough time to complete all that you want to do inside of each VB I/O read SO mach will stretch the I/O read cycle and that could end up as SECs per read OR mach will skip over VB calls.

ALSO it is a Bad idea to control MOTION code from the Macropump.  NOT always safe.

VB code in mach is NOT realiable enought to do what you want to do. You need to do it as a plugin in. THEN maybe you can make it work.

Turn on the speak feature in Config.

Then create a macro say M911

'M911
Speak" OK I am done come take care of Me"
end


Now mod the post to include the M911 call at the end of the code before the M30.

You can do several things for the display.  Either setup the machine to Refhome so it knows where it is(assuming you have Home switches) OR turn off the table view.
