Darc I had some time today so I took your code apart and reaaranged it both in Abs mode and Inc mode.

Abs runs just fine BUT there appears to be a BIG ole bug in the G41  INCremental side dealing with arcs. After the first pass around it will DOUBLE the arc radius for the arc so it HAS to make a big circle to get all the arc in the same space(;-)

I tried in R mode and IJ mode same thing.

So you are not crazy.  AND your code, once I took full time to draw it out and review it WAS spot on. NICE JOB on parametric Incremental code.  I DID have to move the leadin and leadouts to make it work correct AND I had it all working EXCEPT for the one arc and mach took a holiday on that move(;-)

YOU could look at the prgrammed feedrate verses the rapid feedrate AND if the FR does not equal the programed rate feedhold the Revrun and go back to standard cycle.

I also see some problems with the incremental code. It does not add up correctly to do loops and some of the formulas do not make sense. To actually cut that profile you have to go about it in a different approach. And yes you have to do the comp as G1 as you lead into the profile and remove it as a G1 as you pull out of the profile.


But that is just my opinion, Your milage may vary. (;-) TP

I would redo the first part and do it ALL in VB without trying to hop out to the Gcode side. Look up the use of " Message and MachMsg and Question "to be used as a hold until you get a response from the operator.

Just make sure you are NOT putting the operator in a dangerous situation while you are in software hold. Odd things can make a machine restart from a soft hold.

When you are intermixing VB and Gcode it does not always do as you expect it would do.

In the first part you are calling M1 and M30 BUT there is NOT a gcode program running so what is it going to hold or reset(;-) They only work for an active Gcode program running.

To make the G4 P# work you would need to insert a WHile Ismoving() command in front of it OR mach may jump over it while it is still doing the Message write.

The While Ismoving() is not just for when mach is moving it is when Mach is active in a process.

In the second half the G4 works because there is a While Ismoving preceeding it to prevent Mach from skipping over it UNTIL the process is complete.

OK I am deciphering your Parametric code I see the shape you are Grinding. WHat exactly is the code suppose to do after the first pass through the code?

YOU can't just add the comp anywhere it has to have a leadin to setup the comp for the cut and usally a leadout to end the comp.  Might want to readup on using comp. It is a simple process BUT can get very complex to program by hand.

THe one thing you have to watch with the Dells is they load up a bunch of diagnostic software so Dell can trouble shoot you over the direct connection internet. This stuff will play havoc with mach if you do not turn it off or remove it from your system.

Other than that I have 2 dells running fine here.
