sounds like servo tuning to me

Personelly I would FIX the machine, BUT try this set your axis home switch as HOME and limit (same switch) Set the home position just OFF the home  switch position ( say .100" ) Then in your program send your axis HOME (G28) not rehome (G28.1) that way IF the axis has lost position it will overun the correct home position and trip it out on the limits.

The only other way is to use verify to confirm the home position.

Just Some thoughts, (;-) TP

General Mach Discussion / Re: Feed Rates Not Same as Gcode

Try doing a simple test. Can each of your axis do the max vel as set in config?

Next try a long move in 3 axis at the same time   something like X10 Y10 Z5  do you reach programmed velocity.

It may be your gcode has too many short segments and the machine never gets a chance to reach max velocity.  Low accellaration values can cause this as well

Maybe your kernal speed is too low to reach max velocity?

Just a some thoughts, (;-) TP

IF you want to control a Gcode side move with a G4P# then you need to use an  approach like this.  Other wise the VB will blow right through and start the next VB line while the G4 dwell is still running(;-)   The While Ismoving() STOPS the VB thread until the Gcode side has completed the dwell and then the Wend allows the VB to continue.

Message " Start Test"

Code"G4p5"
While Ismoving()
Wend

Message "G4 delay" & (5+5)

Code "G1 X10 F30"

While Ismoving()
Sleep 5000
Wend

Message "End Sleep Delay Test"

End

Just a thought, (;-) TP

Are you sure the G4P# will work in a macro. As I understand it only works inside of a Gcode program "running" otherwise it does nothing.

At least testing it here that is what happens.

For s=1 To numSlides
  Code "G1 Z" & (ZIncrement + ZIncrement) 'lift Z a couple of tads      NOTE: you may want to try brakets around the Math operation
  While IsMoving()
    sleep 10
  Wend
  Code "G1 Z-" & ZIncrement 'lower Z a tad
  While IsMoving()
    sleep 10
  Wend

Just a thought(;-) TP

General Mach Discussion / Re: Tool Table not displaying correctly

I think the table only displays correctly IF you have homed  the machine. OR you have checked the box to home true without homing.

The servos are tuneable as to how accurate they run. They are not like a stepper that just assumes it moves a certain amount of step pulses. The controller moves the motor a nd then CHECKS the encoder to make sure it is where it is suppose to be.  You tune the drive to HOW reactive the motion is. You can tune it to acutally overrun the position point then back up to correct itself OR trip out due to error limits. Same with underrunning where it may stop short on the position then try to correct.

It is best to tune the drive with a SCOPE so you can see the actual movement profile and make sure it is correct.

Just a thought, (;-)

I thought I had a way around it BUT mach can only draw the arc through 1 rotation of A.After that it simulates the arc with a ploygon.

You could draw it in segments of 360 deg rotations BUT that is a lot of work.

DOes it do this on EVERY small sharp corner?  IF so then LOOK to the servo tuning, too much overrun will do it every time. The servo will overun the position and then back up to correct.

IS this a stepper machine or a servo machine?
