OK if you can write to it with Hyperterm them all we should have to do is find out the Comport settings that HT used.

Then try setting up the MCAH port the same.   Then we can start with something simple like

SendSerial "Hello" and see what happens.

Are you doing the autocalibrate routine ???  What are your axis specs  motor, gearing feedscrew , microstepping ????

What settings are in the config setup ?

Fed it is not a waste and I have the time to burn IF it will help you get it working.

That looks like badly tuned set of servos. It will look good on lines that are inline with the axis movement EXCEPT at the tail end of the move AND on diagnal  striaght lines you get the scallop effect.

Look at the end of the inline straight moves it has a BIG overun and correction. Same with the diagnal moves , move overshoot correct back.

Just athought, (;-) TP

oK I see the method. But I don't see where it applies here. I am taking a points file with A/Z data being A is polar and Z is height.  THen Gerrys macro takes that data and converts it into XY coords and inserts into the drawing at 0,0 XY.

But all that aside(;-) How would I get the data inside EXCELL put into the DXF format.I would have to create a header and footer block. Then create an blank entity block for EACH point to input the data Inserting the data into the empty spaces in the block ??

The Number of data points could run from 360 to 360,000

Then save out as text file ? That is not counting the COnversion from polar to linear.

Just curious,(;-) TP

Also the width of the tigger point defines the time domain of the signal.  I alway try to use 50/50, 50% time on 50% time off.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

iF you go back  to a previous line  then hit  run from this line then RUN it will take off following the path. YOU DO NOT have to reverse to get there,MACH will move back to the position called for in the CODE(;-), just cursor back up to the line where it failed. Then back up a few more lines to give you some time to react and do a FRO to slow down the machine. The THC is not in play until the M3 calls for the torch to fire and at this point it was NOT called yet SO yes it works . When the path of the torch crosses the restart point HIT the fire button and the torch will fire , then hit the resetFRO button and MACH continues on it way as thought nothing ever happend.

I have 2 buttons on the hand pendant that does just that purpose. 1st one sets the run next line MINUS 20 lines from the next line DRO value and FRO to 10% then RUN.  The 2nd fires the torch M3 and resets the FRO to 100%

I USE IT ALL THE TIME, It certainly works for me.

You don't restart the torch at the begining of the line you back it up several lines before the point and "watch" it move then hit the fire button a sqeek before it gets to the point you need to restart  at. Do it all the time. You also can use FRO to slow it down as it gets to the spot fire the torch and hit reset FRO. AND off it goes

ALSO have you played with shuttle mode ?????

IF mach crashes you may need to rerun the driver test so that it can restart.

Sounds like a perfect job for a KFLOP conversion  I "think" it can use the tachs(maybe just resolvers) AND the old drives as well. Plus it has plenty of I/O.
