OK that works in quad1  to get a full 360 deg would I need to move the profile into the Pos quad. Right now 0,0 is in the center of the profile so it would have to do all 4 quads.

A would be to convert the xy to polar in degs

I am testing something that involves converting the XY axis to A/Z on the fly.

JUST as a side note tothe Cam grinder project is coming along great. Just a couple more areas to tidy up. AND some odd configurations to test. We can do most of the things the big boys can do and some they can't.

Working on the rocker box grinder design function. it has a kinematic joint to consider for the profile duplication. hope to do it on the fly.

Isthere anyone here fluent with Axis Formulas

I need help trying something here is the math involved. Any idea how to write that in Axis formulas.

Z= Sqrt(X^2 +Y^2)
A= Atan2 (X,Y)

US power 3 phase Y, phase to Ground 120v Phase to phase 208v  , 3 TX bank

240v 3 phase delta with high leg.  A to N 120v   B to N 120v   C to N 240v    240v phase to phase , 2 TX bank

240v  open delta  240v phase to phase no neutral , 3 TX bank

BUT all that is irrelevant as you have 240v 3ohase output and NEED a 240v 3p motor (;-)

Now an interesting side bit.Long ago I did play with a macro to monitor the Z height and apply a FRO based on Z height above the A. That was before Brains and the macro was a bit slow. BUT it did help.

Might be time for someone to try a Brain or a plugin.

You could base it on IF A & XorY are moving then Zheight x PIE =area.  That might be able to help adjust the FRO to speed up the comp in 3d moves.

Hopefully Ver 4 will properly adress the issues. (;-)

The output will be 240v 3 phase delta. With 240V between any two legs.  It can't be Y because there is NO neutral.

USE DeskEngrave( FREE)  and find a font that HAS the Beta Character.

The 4th axis should not be a problem BUT it requires a FAST A axis to do basic 3d work. The combined moves can ONLY move as fast as the slowest component (A axis) . Using Radius COMP is required for MACH to be able to correctly comp the feedrates. Even then the calculation is BASE on how fast the A can move.

IF you need XAZ to go FASTER make the A go faster. The rest of the axis's will follow (;-)
