I don't think there is a Gcode but a Mcode could be created and used. you place the macro in the macro folder for the profile . then you call it like a Gcode.

It should be somewhere on your screen set. I don't know what screenset you are running so can't even make a guess from here.

The value is a percentage of the rapid Z feedrate.

Chris it ALL depends on what you plan to use it for and how often are you going to us it. You usually get what you pay for. To do high detail probing it takes a LOT of cycles to get it done. IF it is extreme detail then you use a very fine tip and even MORE cycles .

IF it makes you money you may want to find a commercial duty probe. They normally will run millions of cycles without problems. If you "can" get one with the overtravel switch to protect your investment. Mach hase been known to eat a probe every now and then by not stopping when it should.

The overtravel switch hooks to the liimts circuit and trips IF the probe miss cues and does not stop. EVEN more important IF you are going to fast cycle the probing routines.

The process is about as exciting as watching paint dry. (;-) TP

OK from the top

Double check that the probe is set for port1 pin10.

Check the diagnostics page in MACH is the LED for the digitizer lit up or off, Change the active state in settings did it change states of the LED (YES)

Unplug the cable from the computer short pins 10 and 20 together, does the led in the diagnostics change state (YES)

IF not then you have a computer, LPT or setup problem.

IF it changes state then plug in the cable and unplug the other end. Short pins 10 and 20 together , did it changes states (yes)

If yes then hook your meter to teh port going it the gecko on pins 10 and 20, trip your probe did it change state(make the connection)  (YES)

unplug the probe and test the connection at that point did it change states? (YES)

SOMEWHERE along that line of testing iis your answer

Steve what is the basic spec on the lobe BaseCircle ? Lift?   firing order   I would like to model a basic cam like yours and see how it works in CNC.

THAT is NOT a quirk, that is the way it was designed and has been for many years.  That is what the THC RATE setting is "for" to the get the accel/vel rates DOWN below the stalling point of the motors. (;-)

Use the THC Rate to TUNE the motors when in THC MODE. 

Also as stated a FINE Z feedscrew is NOT the way to go with steppers. Steppers run best at lower RPMs

IF you  use a 4pole(1800rpm) mpotor they have more torque down low.With the VFD you can overspeed it up to the 3600 level as well. SO that gives you great low end and good top end torque.
