Actually as Stirling has stated you can do all the work in Mach CB. It is VERY powerfull in that respect. I have several CBmacros that take user input and create Gcode files for offset grinding crankshafts and create the Gcode program AND autoload it into Mach for you. All you do is answer some questions and press the Mach go button.

If you are refering to Real TIme Control Protocol I beileve the answer is NO. You may be able to create a plugin to translate the protocol but then it would not be real time. Also Mach is not a realtime control system. It uses a buffer/que  system to ensure stability with windows.

I think the Mp3 is compiled code. Unless you can read and write in machine code I don't think you can modify the MP3 directly.

As to the Job step use the Jog flyout panel and set the set value to whatever value you want, you have a selection. You can also change the the values that the step jog values are chosen from in CONFIG.

If you are wanting seperate step jog buttons then use screen4 and add buttons to you screen then add the jog value code you want.

0.0001mm step Does your machine axis resolution even support that small of a move? Mach can only move at the smallest step resolution of the axis

That may be the old switch/ramp problem. as the X moves off the Home switch it momentarily resets and tells MACH to stop. It the process of Mach stopping the switch tension relaxes and the switch reopens. BUT now Mach thinks it is a limit switch and Estops the system.
Sometimes you will have to do the reset/ jog off TWICE to get it to move far enought off the switch to behave.

The probelm is the overall Ramping Rate to close the switch is too slow and makes the switching process unstable. Sometimes adding in some more debounce will cure it.

Does Art's program do 2.5d gears (xyz) or does it only do 4th axis gear cutting?

Looks like you have every thing you need now.  M3 turns on both, M101 turns on A,  M102 turns on B. What other possible combos are there??

Create a macro inside MACH that calls Excell ,when you have completed your excell save the Gcode file to the MACH gcode DIR, then when it returns back to the macro control have the macro load the file into mach. You can even have it LOAD /RUN if needed. I have used this trick many times .
