Reverse the Hi/Low active setting in config/pins/ports.

Normally when you buy a predrilled subplate the holes are parallel with the sides.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Feedrate for 4th-axis rotary table
« on: August 18, 2011, 06:46:53 PM »
HUM I don't recall ever seeing a rotary table on the Z axis of a CNC mill.  The motion would just duplicate the interpolated X/Y moves.  I don't think you can sync the feedrate in that combination.

Maybe a picture or drawing  of the setup would help.

I have been testing a cutting design program called MAKE THE CUT is is a vector cutting program used in the crafting, vinyl ,paper cutting world.

My wife and daughter use it for crafting with a CriCut. I was watching them work and noticed they were doing the same things I did for plasma only they did it 10 times faster than I could and in some cases did a much better job of it.

SO after a little studying and testing it is a VERY nice program that CAN be used in plasma design work. It outputs in several of the native Vector modes and it is possible that they could write a plugin to output it in DXF format as well.
I take it from SVG straight into Scam.

Might be worth a minute to check it out, the price is VERY reasonable. and the support seems top notch.

General Mach Discussion / Re: homing for probe
« on: August 18, 2011, 05:01:31 PM »
HUM that is not going to work well as there is no easy way to Refhome in both directions. IF you are using the refhome to set Zero you would not need to ref the other direction. The same as we do with plasma machines.

You could use the G31 probing function and set your switch up as a probe input.  You will have to create a macro to run the function.  Not really hard to do just different and has some quirks to it.

Just some thoughts, (;-) TP

Are you looking to just reset the Zero point of the wheel or actual measure the radius of the wheel.  Setting Zero is very easy use the refhome axxis routine.  Measuring the Wheel radius and Keeping track of wheel wear is not so easy. It requires a MASTER set point of a known distance as a reference. Then you compare each touchoff of the wheel to the known setpoint value.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Bit Height Offset

I think you were suppose to push it BEFORE you defined any code in it.

Seems there was a manual for Machscreen somewhere.

Here is a way to turn it ON/OFF. I am not sure IF it ever made it into the Config side on a normal version of Mach. I don't think you will fiond it in the manual and may not in config or it may be hidden somewhere on a page.

SetParam("PrepMove",0) to turn it off
SetParam("PrepMove",1) to turn it on

IF I remember correctly you would ONLY see that box pop up IF you jogged away from a known position during a HOLD situation and pressed cycle start to resume. YES? NO?

How are you doing the actual tool change?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Height Control for Router Table
« on: August 17, 2011, 11:43:44 AM »
OK something to think about (;-)  IF it was as easy to do "WELL" as buying a simple PLC do you think the only LOW COST solutions on the market today would cost $500 ???

I don't use market share as a main planing tool BUT ALWAYS keep it in the mix for a market decision such as a product feasibility. In this case WHY would I invest in a new product and manufactoring the electronics for a Lowcost DTHC at a market price of $500 IF someone could easily use a $25 PLC and do the same thing and sell it for $100????

That was the restart window. It told you were you were and how Mach was going to get back to the start point and asked IF you want to start the spindle.

IF you never saw it before then something has changed.   DID you update mach. Change something in config( You can turn this on or off)?

HOW are you doing a toolchange ??
