MACH3 was NEVER designed to run with sleep mode active. You cannot dependably run MACH3 with sleepmode active. To use MACH3 turn sleep mode OFF.

How do you think your CAR would react to a sleep mode while you were driving(;-)

Sorry the Z feedrate is controlled by Gcode. So it has to be set in the Gcode program.

Normally that setting Zplunge feedrate is controlled from the tooltable in FreeMill. Are you sure you have it set correctly. It just seems ODD that you cannot control the Z plunge feedrate.

OK I am going to give YA the $20 lecture on machine tools. Once you set up Mach3 in W2k OR XP you will NEVER have to upgrade or buy another OS. The machine will ALWAYS run fine with either version.

You can make a smaller load with W2k and it is very dependable.

You NEVER have to be a member of the OS upgrade of the month or year club.

See how much money I just saved you(;-)

As to another port?? Art says in ain't never gonna happen. (;-)

IF you want LINUX then use EMC2. I have run both.


OK IF you have no macros then what is driving the pendant on the LPT2

AH I see you found the known BUG in TComp and  SUBS. It has always been there.  AND there is NO KNOWN way to overcome the error that I know of . Last time I worked on it for 3 weeks straight trying to creat a workaround. NO LUCK

Sometimes you get LUCKY and do not disturb it and everything runs OK but certain combinations of  multi subs AND TC sets it off.

Best to stay away from TC and subs. Subs by themselves run OK. The problem is Mach does NOT carry over some of the positional data from SUB TO SUB and it gets lost trying to apply the new TC. It will eventually find it ways BACK to the proper stop place givin enough room to roam.

YEP there ARE conversion programs out there as well as CAMs that import gerber and convert to Gcode. That is going to be one of those specialty things that very few use.
