General Mach Discussion / Re: How to get the onscreen MPG to stay up?

YOu could modify the screen buttons and include the code to pop up the MPG screen as it changes each time.

OK, So no one is going to bail you out(;-)

It is a yes and no question. Yes it can be done but not directly, you have to go all the way around the block to get it done. You have to use the LPT inputs for those functions and then use a brain to activate deactivate them as a pair.

That I know of it cannot be done directly from the screen. You Can from a plugin .

IF you do a search on the Yahoo site you will find references to the process.

Try loading the Gcode from the computer NOT the network. I think you are having network issues and Mach cannot find the files.

The reason you cannot just restart is the MACH driver is still loaded and will not allow a second session to start.

THe hour glass may indicate that MACH cannot FIND the Gcode to load. Maybe a hardrive failing or ??????

What version of windows??

Have you changed ANYTHING on the computer lately??

Just some thoughts, (;-)TP

it IS not ILLEGAL AS IS. Unless that was changed, just not the best idea. Art had it working well in most respects. The real problems are deep in subs where it gets totally lost .

People also don't understand it is not an auto function it has to be planned for and sooner or later the comp has to be unwound from the process OR it mysteriously shows up elsewhere when you are not looking (;-).

Years ago I beat the dog snot out of the COMP testing it in ways I would NEVER even program it just because someone might(;-).

The last series of comp code I tested was really nice. Don't know if it made it to the  M3 versions or was held for Mv4.

If you have an example of the comp code  switching sides I would love to see it. It would make a good test sample for future testing.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Variables and 1024.set boxes/DROs
« on: October 19, 2011, 04:56:53 PM »
I personally would not use Scream4 (;-) I would use MachScreen.

That I know of there is NO published list of all the internal Vars from 0-20,000. There is one in the manual that kinda gives you the G59(1-255) offsets but as to the actual OTHER values I don't know of any.

I would LOVE to see one done as it would be extremely handy at times AND very deadly at other times (;-). THAT may be the reason there IS NONE.

I think there was a PROPOSED set of variables for the new Mach4??????

SO IF I did a lead in away from the part instead of into the part Mach would get it wrong??  So far as I can tell Mach does not care about the direction of the leadin it just needs room to actually do the move. AND it some cases it WILL go out of its way to acutally do the required move in order to get it correct, Arcs in general (bad form to use arcs as leadins).

Your mileage may vary, (;-) TP

MACH3 will only do as it is told to do(;-).

The only way to know for sure is to post the program and let someone else test it or at least let us reveiw the code to see IF we can spot anything that may cause it.

IF you do not wnat to publicly post it (not always a good idea with copywrite/trademark materials) then you can email it direct to me.

BUT before you do that try the fix it may just be a case that with CV turned on and a slow axis it created rounding arcs where a square corner should be.

Still works fine here using that code example. When this occurs is the DWELL led flashing on the main screen?

VB and the development of wizards / Re: OEM Buttons ???

That should be easy enough do you know what the Dro# is?

You need several references

The length of the space

The length of the routine

Somewhere to display the value

These can be DROs or stored variables or  Just inputs and ouputs to the screen via CB OR injected into a Gcode program by way of #vars

Let me know what you need and i can work on it with you.

Godspeed on the recovery, (;-) TP
