THe cutting feedrate is controlled via the Gcode  F100 would be 100 units per minute.

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Re: Z axis crash

THe G53 Z0 is telling it to go to "machine" zero. Kinda odd to have it in the regular Gcode output. I would look for another post for BOBCAD that did not include that move.

BUT then again normally your machine Zero would be a the top of Z travel a safeZ so to speak.

HI Ian Good to hear from you(;-)  I was about to email you to check on you.

I agree on not getting bogged down on the subject BUT it is something that Brian needs to check out as it should NOT do that.

Maybe Andrew can check it out for Brian to test.

I have looked at the Or and Xor but never could relate them to anything usefull. I'll give it a study BUT it looks to be very difficult to work into something usefull.

In the example what is the condition that is referenced to drive the function. I see the subs and the G68 CR in use. Just can't wrap my head around the IF conditional (;-)

Something must have changed in the G31. In early testing and argueing with Art about which was the best probe cycle type 1 or 2 it did not do that.

I tested every combination we could think of to test the accuraccy of the cycles. Art ending upbeing right about the accuracy but wrong about the "best" cycle. But it never got added(;-)

Ian do you have a debounce setting that may be blocking the first trip????  I do know the testing I did was before the debounce was added in.

Perhaps the debonce routine that was added played havic on the original code???

Just a thought(;-) TP

AH but when you run it in CB it is a sub system of the Gcode AND it is NOT really synced with the Gcode side. Heck it is NOT synced with itself for that matter.

Art always stated you would never see it in Mach3. If it were possible it would have been FAR easier to use the existing Conditional in the original Base code(EMC) than develope the CB macro system in lue of the condition Gcode.

At least from an old chip sligger perspective, (NOT a programmer (;-) ) and yes I have done conditional Gcode/hybridCB programing  using Macros and Gcode and it AINT Pretty and can be CHOPPY in execution as well.

But it is what it is, (;-) TP

HIAY ROGER, Systems that do conditional are mainly realtime control systems NOT buffered systems and can interact directly with the ouput data stream up to the point the motor moves. In mach3 you cannot and have decent movements. You could set the look ahead to 1 and then only have the basic que as the buffer. I have no idea the size of the que but it is small.

I did ask Art long ago about the conditional siode I will try to look back though the notes to find the reason he gave for it being removed. In its place we got the CB macro language and a gateway to the Gcode side using it.

HUM I have never seen it double write the trip point here. Once the initial trip takes place the G31 is no longer actively waiting for a trip it is already into the record and stop sequence of the code. At least that is how Art explained it a long time ago.

There IS switch travel to account for in the calibration of the simple probes. It may be small with some probes BUT it is there and measurable so you really need to account for it. ALso with a 3 legged circiuit the switch travel may vary around the radial movement of the probe.

Normally in calibaration you add the switch travel into the tip radius as a total tip radius. Mach3 DOES have a tip diam comp built in and it ONLY  comps the Var values of the G31 function.

A normal calibration function would be the ball and post method. It sets the Tip comp AND the axis offsets in the same test.

When you are running a buffered system and doing parametric GCODE I would EXPECT it to be ahead of the buffer. That is one of the reasons that we don't have conditional (;-) it would be very hard to be able to calculate things that have not happend yet.

A good example is when you start extracting Axis positional values into your formulas.

One way of stalling the buffer load is to inject G4P0 into the code at strategic places the G4P0 will cause no delay BUT it delays the bufferload until the last minute and MAY make the Var monitor read better .

(;-) IF you are looking for a spelling scholar you are in the WRONG forum (;-) LOLOLOLOL
