VB and the development of wizards / Re: User LED
« on: January 13, 2016, 06:29:58 PM »
You canuse teh brains or teh macroPump. You would monitor teh switch state via the Input# that you brought the signal into. Seeing that yo have 2 signals you can watch makes it better.

The output signal that activates the cylinder and teh End of stroke signal that tells you you are extended.

So you look at both conditions

IF GetSignal(ouput#1) AND Getsignal(inout#1) then '

  SetUserLed(*********x,1 ) ' Turn on Led

End If

Ismoving() does not only pertain to motion it is about any time that mach3 is doing something internally such as uipdating a dro writing something to mem ,etc

General Mach Discussion / Re: code for a repeat single axis driller
« on: January 13, 2016, 05:54:22 PM »
You need to add a small wait period so that the Driller has time to move off of the switch before it starts monitoring the DONE switch

ActivateSignal(OUTPUT1)
While Ismoving()
Sleep(1000)        ' Wait 1 sec  This can be adjusted as needed
Wend
While IsActive(INPUT1)= False
Sleep(50)
Wend
DeactivateSignal(OUTPUT1)

You also may want to keep a watch on Arts latest Motion controller project. AUGGIE  It is more an Augmented motion controller than a Direct Gcode controller. It may very well include Kenimatics as it's base.

A motion robot is more akin to a PLC than a Gcode controller . The robot does not have to process variable motion codes and plot a solution. The robot simply follows a predesigned path.

Mach3 can run a 6 axis motion path IF you can program it.  BUT it cannot do world point jogging as it does not understand teh kenimatics of the joints.  WIth a 6 axis CAM it converts teh motion of teh joints into Gcode based moves so that Mach3 does not have to understand teh kenimatics.

Mach3 was NEVER designed to be a robot controller it is a simple Gcode controllers that has been exploted for many other things. Some things it does well and others not worth a hoot.  You just have to keep in mind as to it original purpose. Low cost simpleGcode controller that can run under windows AND use teh LPT ports (2) as teh needed high speed I/O (;-)

It IS possible to do kenimatics in mach3 BUT requires an extensive Plugin to pull it off.   At least that is what Art said long ago.

IF you need to run a robot then Lcnc is what you are looking for it can already do kenimatics directly AND also do world point jogging. Even then it is NOT a perfect Robot controller either (;-)

OR you could roll your own program code. Commercial Robot controllers have been around a long time now . Open your wallet and spend the bucks and you can have one too (;-).  I am sure IF you search hard enough you can find someone that has already been down this road and has a solution.

If you single step down through the code you will see the problem as to WHY you are stuck in an endless loop with no way out(;-)

The first loop sets  specific conditions  after that the escape conditions do not exist as I see it from here so around and around you go.

The counter can NEVER count up past teh first loop because teh count incrementing is in the wrong position inside teh loop. As teh condition is not met it hops over teh counting code .

YEs cutter FORM can be specific to teh material. Here I use a cutter specifically for aluminum. Very sharp and very polished, most of the time they are colbalt or HSS. Carbide as a last resort.  BUT the root cause is always heat. I have seen some instances where even flood coolant could not cool teh actual cutting surface. It created a steam pocket and the actual tip was not cooled. Most GOOD coolants have a surfactant to break down the surface tension of the liquid to help in those areas.

Yes brass tools, aluminum tools, Titanium tools steel, tools Low carbon steel , and tools Hi carbon steels.  I think I have more money in tools than Machine (;-)TP

OK what do you mean by it hangs Mach3 ?? Have you single stepped through the code to see what line causes it to hang ?

When I tested you r brain here teh logic failed due to teh fact that you never created a logic condition to compare to in teh #var value side. Teh led is automatically a boolean value true/false, BUT teh DRO value has to be compared to a value to reach a boolean state.  #var = 1 == ON  so then you compare the Value against 1  IF #var = 1 then it is true.

IF you use the Brain monitorr you can SEE all the values and the STATE of each lobe of the brain.  Not saying it cannot happen but I have never seen a state change without it lighting the LED IF there is one.

You also need to be aware that Mach3 does not always treat the value of the GetLED(804) as 0,1. It can be true ,false, and -1,1  And at times it is NOT consistant. AND I do not know why it does it but I KNOW for a fact it does it. I have spent days in the past tracing values and comparing them. I find it best to always treat it as true,False condition(boolean)

AND again you need to move the END to the actual END of the  script in this case.

Just a thought,  (;-) TP
