General Mach Discussion / Re: program pause until spindle starts
« on: February 27, 2012, 02:06:15 PM »
I thin what Gerry is asking IS do you have the spindle setup in MACH3 config.  IF not then Mach may  ignore ANY m3 it sees. SO if you put your code in the M3 macro Mach3 will never see it.

You could build a simple Mcode (M100) that contains the code then place the M100 where a M3 would go. THAT will test your funtion.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

Another easy way to track the cuts is to use a #var to assign it the latest cut#

#100 = 1

code
code
code

#100=2

Code
code
code
#100 = 3

That way when you need to rewind, the Value of #100 = the last cut you were on. Make the #100 the same as the oword.

General Mach Discussion / Re: M8 / M9 for Output control
« on: February 26, 2012, 01:13:06 PM »
Simply create your OWN Mcodes to be used in Gcode. Store it in the Mach3/ Macro directory. Then call it when needed via Gcode program.

example:

M100 turn ON output
M101 Turn OFF output

General Mach Discussion / Re: Turn Drill Wizard
« on: February 26, 2012, 11:21:14 AM »
I think you will find it is the computer possible the display driver that causes the problem. I have 2 computors here 1 w2000 and 1 vista. The vista dawg has problem with Mach3 and wizards being able to toggle buttons and enter DROs with values. Some work some do not.

The W2000 works ALL the time. Same version Mach3 Same XML.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

General Mach Discussion / Re: #variable / macro programming
« on: February 24, 2012, 02:04:13 PM »
There is very little info on the #var ranges.  BUT 1-1000 should be safe to use. The range of 500-600 are persistant, meaning they are saved when Mach3 shuts down. The others are not saved, but do remain active while Mach3 is running.

#100=10
#101=100

G00 X0 Y0
G01 X0.000 Y #100 F#101
G01 X0.000 Y [#100 + 10]  F [#101* 1.25]
M30

This is a very simple Code that shows the basic use of #vars  The 2 #var are assigned values at the start then CALLED as needed. Values can also be calculated on the fly.

Hope that helps, (;-) TP

IT will mean one of two things EITHER you programmed the arc incorrectly OR you need to configure the IJ's as to inc or abs.

IF you want to see MACH3 get lost try this file. ALl goes well UNTIL mach3 has to leave the first sub and go to the second nested sub. WHICH IS the exact same program code just as a second tier nest.

General Mach Discussion / Re: still miffied

Normally IF you want to machine metric you issue a G21 to set metric mode IF you want imperial you issue a G20. That tells MACH3 what MODE to run in.

Keep it simple, (;-) TP

I really don't see any way for that to work.

You CAN use #var as in M98 P#10 L1 to call an internal SUB And the #var=[#var +5] will work fine.

BUT not to call and outside sub as in M98 (#10.txt) L1

You may be able to create a Hybrid CB macro to do it BUT would be a lot more work that just programming in what you need.

You code seems to work here V .043.022.   BUT I have seen  it fail as you describe works fine the first loop then just wnaders around starting the second loop.

What ver are you running?
