Share Your GCode / Re: Post for Mach3

Well just guessing here BUT if you are using MACH3 I would ASK for a post for MACH3.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

Can't say about the newer version BUT the older versions from the main screen you went to

NC Utils

Post Proc

Change

Then select from the pop up listing.

ADD a G20 to the start of the Gcode or issue a G20 from teh MDI line before you start the program.

You need to SET the G20 mode so MACH3 runs in INCHES. G21 set it to run in MMs.

Look at teh top right of the main screen, the modal line , it shows what modes are active.

VB and the development of wizards / Re: THCon() ???
« on: March 27, 2012, 11:33:05 AM »
Thanks Ian, I guess I am getting old I never thought about a duplicate command being available. I must have had my blinders on(;-)

I was working on a ARC slowdown routine for plasma where IF you had an arc less than ********* Radius AND arc angle Greater than XXdeg then THCoff() and reduce Feedrate by XX%
Then when the arc is complete THCon() and resume cutting.

Shee Cam can do the Gcodeing for it using a MCODE to signal the slowdown BUT running a MCODE there is a delay that causes the Machine to dwell while cutting leaving a divot(;-)

So I did a routine with a macropump aand a routine with a brain to see IF I could get rid of the dwell.

TRY this: NOW it will display the entire string BUT when you run it it only displays a single loop BUT the machine willl move thru the entire string. IT is a display thing with mach3.

HIYA Tweakie do you have a copy of that  file I can use to test? AND where did you stop?

Did you have the watchdog running by chance?

General Mach Discussion / Re: M98 subroutine won't execute
« on: March 26, 2012, 01:43:05 AM »
OK first you cannot use line numbers on lines that contain the Oword. Mach cannot see the Oword if you do.

You first SUB it NOT a sub that is the main program it cannot have the Oword at teh beginning.

In sub # 2 you have a M99 at line 155 which stops the rest of the code from runnning is the following code part of the sub OR main program. IF main program it is in the wrong place. IF sub then remove the M99 so the rest can run. It is ODD to have a tool change in the middle of a sub BUT if it works(;-)

Create a macro to do the functions you want save it as an Mcode M1000 for example.

Next put the Mcode into the initialization string in on the gen config page. Next check the box that says Use intialization string on all resets.

Now when ever you come OUT of reset it runs the initialization string WITH your Mcode call .

General Mach Discussion / Re: x y dumb question

You can set up the top right corner as X0Y0 BUT you will have to program the code BASED on that position. You will be working in the Xneg Yneg quadrant and all your code will be NEG numbers.

Best to keep everything as NORMAL. You can still use the top right of the vise to setup from it just won't be X0Y0.

Just a thought, (;-) TP
